Happy Neurodiversity Celebration Week! 🙌

This week is all about recognising and celebrating the unique strengths, perspectives, and talents of neurodivergent people.

Llais celebrates this week to strengthen our commitment to an inclusive culture where neurodivergent people feel understood and supported.

By learning, listening and championing diversity, we can help create environments where everyone can thrive.

Let’s embrace what makes each of us different and powerful.

Happy International Women’s Day ✨

Today, we celebrate the incredible women working across health and social care services in Wales — our staff, the carers, surgeons, nurses, doctors, support workers, administrators, volunteers, leaders, and countless others whose dedication strengthens our services every single day.

Your compassion, expertise, and resilience make a real difference to the wellbeing of people and communities across Wales. Thank you for everything you do, not just today - but every day.

📣 Have your say on Wales’ Dementia Strategy

Welsh Government has published the Draft Dementia Strategy for Wales 2026–2036, and the public consultation is now open.

We’re helping to raise awareness and would appreciate your support in sharing the consultation with your networks, to ensure as many voices as possible are heard.

Your help will contribute to a strategy that truly reflects the needs of those affected by dementia in Wales.

Dydd Gŵyl Dewi Hapus! 🌼

This St David’s Day, we’re celebrating The People’s Principles, which are a set of expectations shaped by thousands of people across Wales during our We Want campaign, about what truly matters in health and social care.

People told us they want:
✨ Access that works for everyone
✨ Dignity and respect, every time
✨ Clear and honest communication
✨ Joined-up care that feels seamless
✨ Timely care and support while waiting
✨ Care should recognise and respond to the whole person
✨ Care and support that enables independence
✨ Inclusive, accessible and fair for all

These principles set the foundation for a better, fairer, more person‑centred system for Wales.

Llais has responded to the All‑Wales Maternity and Neonatal Assurance Assessment Report, which confirms many of the concerns women and families have raised with us.

The national assessment shows examples of compassionate care, but also highlights system‑wide issues including inconsistent triage, gaps in postnatal support, workforce pressures, disjointed neonatal services, and slow, distressing incident review processes.

Llais has made sure people’s voices helped shape this assessment and will continue to push for urgent, transparent action across Wales.

The People's Principles reflect shared priorities 🙌

They are grounded in what people have said matters most and they provide a strong, values-led foundation for reform.

Alongside them, the common understanding of shared rights and responsibilities recognises that a sustainable health and social care system depends on partnership between people and communities, the workforce and government.

🌟 We’re excited to launch our new ‘Silly Rules’ report today!

Created with the Bevan Commission, this report highlights some everyday rules in health and social care that might be slowing things down or making life harder than it needs to be.

We asked people across Wales:
“If you could change or break any rule to make care better, what would it be?”

We were blown away by hundreds of suggestions full of practical, honest ideas to improve the experience for both the people of Wales, and health and social care staff.

Some examples we heard:
📞 People being told to phone for an appointment while standing right in front of the reception desk.
📝 Managers spending hours on paperwork for very small incidents.

These stories show how small changes could make a big difference.

Thank you to everyone who shared their voice. Let’s keep the conversation going and work together, to make positive change happen.
