Some great research for physical activity ππ»ππ»
A new study by researchers at Harvard University has found a link between daily walking and decreased risk of cognitive decline.
The 14-year study is one of the first to explore the relationship between activity and Alzheimerβs disease.
It showed that people who walk 5,000+ steps per day are less likely to develop Alzheimerβs, and that patients who already have the disease can slow it down by taking part in modest amounts of exercise.
What does this mean for women?π€
Women are more likely than men to suffer from Alzheimerβs, with one study by Alzheimerβs UK finding that 1 in 5 women develop the disease, compared to 1 in 10 men.
Women are less likely than men to meet recommended physical activity levels, due to a lifetime of stereotyping leading them to put their needs last. But...
90% of midlife women say they would consider exercise if it was recommended by a GP.
Sport and exercise can transform a womanβs health for life. Itβs time we started taking it seriously.
Itβs not a nice to have, itβs a must have for all women.
