A Little Bit About Me

๐Ÿ’๐Ÿปโ€โ™€๏ธ Hello, my name is Jodie, and as you may have guessed, I am currently working as a freelance dental nurse across South Wales. Although I have nearly 13 years of experience in dentistry, I am relatively new to locum work. As I have already shared a post outlining my professional background, I wanted to take the opportunity to introduce myself on a more personal level.

๐Ÿ• When Iโ€™m not at work, youโ€™ll usually find me spending time with my three fur babies โ€” Luna, Chester and Nellie. Our favourite weekends are spent exploring secure dog fields across South Wales, and weโ€™ve found some fantastic ones that we would happily recommend. Theyโ€™re perfect if you want to let your dog run free while knowing theyโ€™re safe and secure.

๐Ÿ– I also love travelling abroad whenever I can and enjoying much time in the sunshine. Last year, my partner and I visited Abu Dhabi, Turkey and Cyprus, and in 2024 we travelled to Dubai, Tunisia and the UAE. We particularly enjoy destinations with warm climates.

โ˜•๏ธ My other simple pleasures include a good cup of tea with cake or biscuits, and spending time with friends โ€” whether that's catching up over a chat or enjoying activities like sip-and-paint evenings.

๐ŸŒˆ Having a good workโ€“life balance is very important to me. I love the variety and challenges that come with being a locum dental nurse, but I also value time to relax reflect and recharge.

Hi & Welcome to my page๐Ÿ‘‹๐Ÿป

My name is Jodie and I am the face behind the fill-in fairy! I wanted to take the opportunity to share a bit about my experiences and journey through dentistry over the years.

Back in 2012 I started out as a trainee dental nurse and completed my qualification via an apprenticeship course with Aspiration training.

I spent 3 years working in general dental practices around Cardiff & Newport before going off to work as a dental nurse within the prisons in 2015, which i enjoyed for 7 years.

Fast forward to 2022 and an exciting opportunity to become a practice manager presented itself. Although reluctant to leave a job i loved, I felt I really wanted and needed some progression.

After 3 years as a practice manager I have decided that it is the right time to do something a little different and wanted to try locum work. Which brings me to here! Almost 13 years in dentistry and still enjoying it.
