Since 16/12/2024, we have been working closer than ever with our partners . Being located together at CIGC has meant that we can collaborate and pool resources, share knowledge and expertise, to ensure that Wales’ genomic health and research provision is fit for the future. A heart-warming story showcasing the impact the QuicDNA Liquid Biopsy Study has had on Pat and her family.
Pat's story not only represents improved patient outcomes as a direct result of advances in genomic application, but also highlights Wales' journey towards embedding precision medicine in to our treatment pathways.
Looking to the future: The innovative, hard working and dedicated teams that have been involved in making the study a success are now expanding the use of liquid biopsy into other cancer types - the QuicDNA Max study will be launched very soon and marks the start of a very exciting new chapter of Wales' Genomic Strategy.

The end of the year marked the final move to the CIGC for the co-location of all partners!

Our phased integration and co-location of Welsh genomics services began in November 2023, and since the final move on 16/12/2024, we have been working closer than ever with our partners Public Health WalesWales Gene Park / Parc Geneteg Cymru and Welsh Government under our Genomics Partnership Wales partnership!

AWMGS Facilities Lead, Sharon, actually relocated to the new Wales Genomic Health Centre in 2023, over a year before the final lab relocation in December 2024. Sharon talks about her part in the organisational elements and planning of the re-location, the service's achievements and also the collaborative impact of co-locating with our partners.
