Today our toddlers enjoyed a lovely circle time. They sang their favourite songs, using movements and signs to bring the music to life. These activities not only promote social interaction and enjoyment, but also support song recognition, language and communication development, and physical skills such as fine and gross motor coordination as the children signed, danced, and moved their bodies to the music.

⭐⭐Exciting Announcement ⭐⭐

We are delighted to announce that Little Owls have successfully raised the funds required for our brand-new community defibrillator! 💛

A huge thank you to all our parents, families, children, and staff who helped us reach our target. Your generosity and support have made this possible — we couldn’t have done it without you!

We are now looking for a qualified electrician who would be willing to volunteer their time to help us install the defibrillator.

Your support will help make this life-saving equipment available for both our nursery and the wider community.

We have been provided a statement on the importance of a defibrator from a parent who works as a paramedic.

"AED's (Automated External Defibrillators) deliver an electric shock to restart a person's heart in the event of a cardiac arrest. If CPR is commenced and an AED is located within 3-5 minutes of collapse, the chances of survival increase by 50-70% whilst waiting for the emergency services to arrive.

This is a vital piece of equipment and we are keen to increase awareness and increase the chances of survival in the unfortunate event that somebody local experiences a cardiac arrest"

Thank you to everyone who joined us for our fundraising day!
It was so lovely to see all of our families come together to support us. Thanks to your generosity, we raised a fantastic amount toward our defibrillator fundraising.
We are proud to be working with the OurJay Foundation to raise money for a defibrillator, helping us protect and safeguard all of our children, families, and everyone who enters Little Owls.

Today our preschool children were delighted to welcome back Naomi from Yoga Beamz. Together they went on an exciting adventure to the Three Beats House, exploring lots of new yoga positions along the way. Yoga is a wonderful activity that helps children stretch their bodies, improve concentration, and develop focus, all while having fun!

🌟 Quick & Easy Homemade Playdough Activity

You’ll need:

2 cups flour

1 cup salt

1 cup water (add gradually)

How to make it:

1. In a large bowl, mix the flour and salt.

2. Slowly add the water while stirring until a dough forms.

3. Knead the dough on a flat surface until it’s smooth and stretchy.

4. If it’s too sticky, add a little more flour; if it’s too dry, add a splash more water.

Learning Benefits:

Fine motor skills: Rolling, pressing, and kneading strengthens hand muscles.

Language development: Talking about shapes, textures, and creations builds vocabulary.

Social skills: Sharing tools and ideas encourages cooperation and turn-taking.

Sensory exploration: Children discover textures, pressure, and movement through touch.

Tip: Store your playdough in an airtight container to keep it soft .

👮‍♂️🚨Today we celebrated Emergency Services Day!
The children had lots of fun taking on different important roles. They became firefighters, putting out “fires” using water pistols, and doctors, carefully performing first aid on the babies. They also practised dialing 999 while building their mark-making skills. To top it off, they explored an exciting emergency services sensory tuff tray, sparking imagination and curiosity throughout the day.
