🚑 MISSION COMPLETE – EUROPEAN MEDICAL REPATRIATION 🇬🇧➡️🇪🇸

This week, KOMR successfully completed a long-distance medical repatriation across Europe — covering 3,240 miles over 65 hours of continuous travelling time.

Two ferry crossings, countless fuel stops, and some incredible views along the way but the focus never shifted from delivering the patient safely, professionally, and with dignity.

This was a round the clock operation, with crews rotating throughout to maintain constant progress while ensuring appropriate rest periods were taken. This allowed us to deliver safe, uninterrupted patient care from departure through to arrival.

Our ambulance MR99 took on her first full patient-facing deployment and what a debut it was. She performed faultlessly throughout, supporting both crew and patient every mile of the journey.

Now back in the yard, she’s getting a well earned deep clean, before heading in for a full health check, service, brakes and routine maintenance ready for the next job.

We couldn’t be prouder of the team, the vehicle, and the standard of care delivered on this job.

(And yes… we made it back without any breakdowns… of the vehicle that is 😉)

Yesterday while travelling we noticed something didn’t feel quite right with our new 🚑

After safely pulling over we discovered a tyre had suffered a complete blowout. 🛞💥

Thankfully a quick call to HS Mobile Tyres had us back on the road in no time 🛞

Professional, efficient and fairly priced. Two really friendly lads who got KOMR back on the road again quickly and safely.

Now it’s back to HQ for to be booked in for a full health check and inspection to ensure no further damage has been caused 🛠️🚑

Today Kieran delivered an Emergency First Aid at Work (EFAW) course up in Scotland 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 for the fantastic team at La Salute Ristorante Italiano, West Calder 🍷🍝🍕

👏 Passes all round!
Every member of staff successfully completed the course — a credit to their engagement, teamwork and willingness to get stuck in during the practical scenarios.

We’d like to say a huge thank you to everyone at La Salute for their participation and incredible hospitality. The food provided before the long drive back to Wales definitely didn’t disappoint! 🇮🇹🔥

And of course, shoutout to Resusci Anne and friends for making the trip up north with Kieran and keeping him company on that long drive 🚗💚

Today we were on-site at Fuller Tankers in Sedbury, delivering a private Emergency First Aid at Work (EFAW) course.

As an approved Pro Trainings UK centre, our instructor Mark led the session, covering all HSE-compliant content including CPR, AED use, recovery position, choking, bleeding control and incident management.

👏 Passes all round!
We’re proud to say we’ve added two more qualified Emergency First Aiders to the workplace today.

🚨 Check Your First Aid Kits - Safety Alert 🚨

Following a UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA) recall, several alcohol-free cleansing wipes have been found to be contaminated with Burkholderia bacteria.

While this bacteria rarely affects healthy individuals, it can cause serious infections, particularly in:
• Vulnerable patients
• Those with open wounds
• Anyone managing IV lines or invasive devices

❌ The following alcohol-free wipes should NOT be used:
– ValueAid Alcohol-Free Cleansing Wipes
– Steroplast Sterowipe Alcohol-Free Wipes
– Reliwipe Alcohol-Free Cleansing Wipes
– Microsafe Alcohol-Free Moist Wipes

👉 What you should do now:
✔️ Check all first aid kits, response bags, vehicles and grab packs
✔️ Remove and safely dispose of affected wipes if found
✔️ Replace with approved sterile alternatives (e.g. alcohol wipes or sterile saline where appropriate)

At KOMR, patient safety comes first. We have reviewed our own stock and encourage all providers, event organisers and first aiders to do the same.

🚑 MEET MR36 🚑

We’re pleased to introduce MR36, our new Land Rover Discovery 3, recently added to the KOMR fleet.

Over the coming months, MR36 will be converted into a stretcher capable support vehicle. MR36 will help us to enhance our operational capability and provide flexible medical support across a wide range of events, projects and partner services.

MR36 had its first outing yesterday, proudly providing medical support for one of our industry partners at the Santa Cruise Knaresborough Tractor Run, raising vital funds for Yorkshire Air Ambulance 🎅🚜🚁

A great first job for a vehicle that has a busy future ahead.

Last weekend, we had the pleasure of supporting MCA Training & Events as they assisted at Tweseldown 🐎 🚑

Although it may have only been one extra crew member, it was a privilege to contribute alongside our friends and colleagues from two outstanding medical providers.

We’re always grateful for opportunities to collaborate — MCA and SES both demonstrate exceptional professionalism, passion, and commitment to patient care, particularly within the equestrian and equine industry🐴.

It was a fantastic few days ensuring the safety and wellbeing of riders, spectators, and staff, while seeing first-hand how effective provider collaboration can be when everyone shares the same values.

Here’s to continued teamwork, great partnerships, and more brilliant events ahead! ❤️

🚨 EVENT MEDICAL COVER | COPS & CARS 2025 🚨

This weekend, our team had the absolute pleasure of providing medical cover alongside 𝐍𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐡 𝐘𝐨𝐫𝐤𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐫𝐞 𝐑𝐨𝐚𝐝 𝐄𝐯𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬 at the 𝐂𝐨𝐩𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐂𝐚𝐫𝐬 charity event, hosted at The Motorist 🚗🚓💙

The event was in support of two incredible causes – Andys Man Club and PTSD999 – both doing vital work supporting mental health and our emergency services family. It was an honour to stand behind such meaningful charities.

A massive thank you to the one and only 𝐁𝐞𝐧 𝐏𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐬𝐨𝐧 for making this whole day happen – your dedication and passion made the event the success it was. 👏
