Antiobiotic Awareness Week.

As we head into winter we all experience spikes in coughs, colds and sore throats which are caused by viruses. Antibiotics will not help with a viral illness and the vast majority of patients, young and old will heal on their own.

Please consider becoming and antibiotic gaurdian- the link explains more about antibiotics and the problems arising with antibiotic resistance. We need to protect antibiotics for those that truly need them.

Please see the comments box for information regarding childhood illnesses and how to manage these, including when to seek support.

Life Changers is a FREE of charge weekly programme for people living with a life changing illness, injury or long-term health condition or who have experienced a life-changing event, such as those recovering from a stroke, cancer, surgery or living with diabetes, multiple sclerosis, long covid or other health conditions.

Each session enables people to experience the joy and health benefits of gardening in a social atmosphere, where individuals can build confidence to regain or maintain a healthy and independent lifestyle.

It runs every Thursday 10-3pm in Kings Heath Park and you may see some very family faces (Dr Beighton volunteers there).

Thank you to all our patients who took the time to complete this month’s Friends and Family survey.
We really appreciate your feedback, both through the survey and on Google Reviews.

We’re delighted that 95% of you rated your experience as ‘Very Good’ or ‘Good’, which is fantastic news!

Here are a few snippets of the lovely feedback we received:

I had time to go through everything, the paramedic practitioner that I saw was knowledgeable, worked through all possibilities with me, explained what he was going to do next, and also did my blood test without me needing to book a separate appointment (which can be difficult due to work) He had a look through prior records that were relevant and put the pieces together, I came away feeling confident that we had found the root cause, what my next steps would be and what would happen from the medical side.

Because the doctor was brilliant with sorting out my issues

The Paramedic who did my sons nasal flu spray was really friendly and reassuring as my little boy was nervous

The doctor was so lovely with us and giving my toddler her flu vaccine, quick process and helped my toddler feel at ease. Absolute bonus giving her a sticker at the end!

The Dr listened to me and treated me with respect

Lovely compassionate team members

Appointment was arranged quickly. Did not wait past appointment time. The person I saw was incredibly friendly and warm.

Self check in was smooth and I did not wait too long after my appointment time. My doctor was amazing, compassionate and pleasant. She made my procedure go so fast and it was really comfortable especially since she knew that I was nervous.

My visit to the GP was for a routine test I wasn't looking forward to having, and happened on a day when I'd already received bad news. The GP was so kind and supportive and considerate when I was feeling overwhelmed. Her kindness and consideration made the appointment so much more bearable at the end of a particularly tough day. Thank you!

Lisa the nurse was very knowledgeable and really good at putting you at your ease.
