💛🌍 World Kindness Day – Kindness in Action 🌍💛

Kindness is a powerful force—and Service children know this better than most. Whether it’s welcoming a new friend at a new school, supporting a sibling during a deployment, or simply showing empathy to someone who’s having a tough day, their acts of kindness ripple through our community.

On World Kindness Day, we celebrate those small but mighty moments that make a big difference. Let’s encourage our children to share kindness in their own way—through words, actions, and even creative expression.

💡 Kindness Tip: Start a “kindness jar” at home or school—fill it with notes of kind acts, and read them together at the end of the week!

How exciting! Santa is finally where he should be at the Green Howards Museum in Richmond this December. Places are booking quickly but this Santa is perfect for our military families as he knows all the houses in the Garrison so would be the best one to speak to to make sure your little ones get their Christmas wishes this year!

Today, we pause to remember the courage, sacrifice, and service of all those who have served—and continue to serve—in the Armed Forces. For our Service children, this day holds deep meaning. Many have parents, grandparents, or loved ones who wear the uniform, and they understand the strength it takes to support them from home.

Armistice Day is not only about remembrance—it’s about gratitude, reflection, and hope. In schools and communities, service children often lead the way in helping others understand the importance of this day. Their voices matter, and their stories help keep the legacy of service alive.

Let’s honour their unique perspective and the quiet strength they show every day. 🌺

I am beyond proud of all the children who took part in today's Festival of Remembrance at Ripon Cathedral. There were so many magical moments and I have met so many wonderful young people. This is why I love my job and will always strive to do my best for them. Thank you to everyone who attended or watched virtually from home.

Today is our annual Festival of Remembrance for North Yorkshire's Service children at Ripon Cathedral. It is so important that our children have a space to come together to remember but also to thank them for their contribution. The Festival is in it's 13th year and is a closed event for schools only but parents and the public can watch from home via the Ripon Cathedral YouTube channel which can be found here:

Another extra special moment from last year's Festival of Remembrance when Bolton-on-Swale St Marys school performed 'Pray for Peace' written by the wonderful Kelly Fort at Praise-along Music. This year the whole congregation will be singing 'Pray for Peace' and 'Seeds of Sunshine' and hoping Kelly will hear us over in Lancashire via our live stream.
