We’ve shared a new blog post reflecting on our Postcards from Somewhere event which was held on Saturday in collaboration with Dr Alyse Hung from hosted at The Connection at St Martin's ✉

It was a gentle, creative space to slow down, connect, and explore what “somewhere” means through writing, making, movement, and shared moments with others.

Participants left with postcards they had created, but also (we hope) with a sense of connection and pause that’s often hard to find.

You can read more about the event, our intentions behind it, and why this work matters on our website. Head there via the link in our bio.

Thank you so much to all who attended. We’re looking forward to creating more spaces like this very soon 🌿

For the next in our series of free wellbeing events, we've teamed up with to offer Craft & Connect on the last Friday of every month 🌿

A relaxed, welcoming creative session where we’ll make and create together and enjoy good conversation. No experience needed, just come as you are! Craft materials provided, but feel free to bring your own. Gently facilitated by a psychologist, these sessions are about slowing down, connecting with others, and doing something kind for your wellbeing through craft.

The first session on 3rd April will be Create Your Own Wellbeing Journal: Participants will design and begin a personalised wellbeing journal using mixed media. Prompts will be optional, with space for drawing, writing, collage, or reflection at each person’s own pace.

Please reserve a place for every person attending. You can reserve your place on the Human Kind Cafe website.

The phrase "progress isn't linear" is very applicable to therapy work. But when a probelm is having an impact, you are finding things challenging or you want things to be different, it can be hard when things don't feel like they are progressing in the direction you want.

In therapy, we help you to notice the slight shifts and the quiet progress that are a signal that things are moving. And when there are bumps in the road, we are here to guide your journey 🌿

Starting therapy can feel like a big step.🌿

It’s completely normal to feel unsure about what will happen, what you’ll be asked, or whether you’ll say the “right” thing. Many people come to therapy for the first time feeling nervous or uncertain.

You don’t need to share everything at once.
You don’t need to have a clear plan.
You don’t need to know exactly what to work on.

Therapy is a collaborative process. It moves at your pace and creates space to explore what’s going on in a way that feels manageable and supportive.

If you’ve been considering therapy for anxiety, stress, low mood, or personal growth, feeling unsure doesn’t mean you’re not ready. It simply means it matters.

Olea Therapy offers professional, compassionate support tailored to you.

🌿Anxiety can feel overwhelming : your mind races, your body tenses, and it’s easy to feel like you need to “fix” it immediately. Here are 4 practical ways to help calm yourself:

1) Notice “what if” thoughts. Anxiety often thrives on “what if” scenarios. Pause and remind yourself: a thought isn’t a fact. Name it, label it, and let it pass.

2) Slow your breathing. Focus on long exhales and gentle inhales. Even 1–2 minutes of conscious breathing sends a safety signal to your nervous system and lowers tension.

3) Avoid rushing / slow down. Anxiety can make you want to pace, escape, or do everything at once. Instead, pause, sit, or stand still. Let your body settle naturally.

4) Reach out for support. You don’t have to face anxiety alone. Talking to a professional or someone you trust can provide reassurance and practical guidance.

These small steps don’t remove anxiety instantly but over time, they teach your mind and body that you can manage it, and that the sensations will pass.

If anxiety feels overwhelming, we are here to help. We provide professional support and practical strategies to help you understand and manage anxiety safely and effectively.

This Acceptance and Commitment Therapy workbook is a great resource for identifying your values and setting actions in line with your own values. Throughout this workbook, there are reflective prompts, information about ACT and manageable tasks. It's a great starting point for people interested in finding out their own values. 🌿

At Olea Therapy we know that resources and worksheets can be a helpful addition to your therapy journey. If you opt for in person sessions, we provide complimentary resources like this ACT workbook so you have reminders for work outside of the sessions and something to take away with you at the end of your support. (Resources provided with select therapists and locations).✨

*Self help resources like the ACT workbook are not a substitute for professional support.
