On Tuesday 17th March a few of our residents were invited to a charity event held at Chelmsford Racecourse; Time For A Cuppa, which the racecourse holds annually in supporting residents living with Dementia. There was plenty of lovely cakes to choose from and oodles of tea and coffee on offer. It is lovely that a local organisation recognise those with such illness. We are all looking forward to next year's event.

On Monday 2nd March saw the Grand Opening opening of our newly refurbished, Residential Dementia Community, Drake. It was such a lovely morning, not only because of the weather, but for the turnout to watch the community being opened by The Mayor of Chelmsford, Jannetta Sosin, and her Mayoress, Chris Shaw.

Following the wonderful buffet, enjoyed by residents, friends and family; HC-One and Admirals Reach Staff, a fun afternoon followed with entertainment from the one and only Elvis!

Friday the 13th may be unlucky for some, but at Admirals, love was in the air with Brian Shaw performing his Valentine’s special of love songs. There was plenty of music, special guests from Thriftwood College pupils dancing and singing along. A lovely afternoon.

Today was a trip out to the local pub for lunch. A resident from Nelson, along with residents from Mountbatten, seemed to enjoy their lunch at The Black Bull, with a special treat for one resident for being met by a family member.

It is only Wednesday, and it has already been a fun week, with engagement from Rise (rise.life), arts and crafts, and cards. Looking forward to what is instore for the rest of the week.

“Should auld acquaintance be forgot, And never brought to min?” – Robert Burns

Burns at Admirals: Robert (Rabbie) Burns was born on 25th January and, to celebrate his 267th, residents enjoyed dressing up and, despite no haggis, residents enjoyed an afternoon of shortbread and fun games and information in honour of Mr Burns.
