Walking barefoot isn’t always bad… but it isn’t always good either 👣
When it CAN be good:
✔️ Short periods at home
✔️ Helps strengthen foot muscles
✔️ Improves balance and awareness
When it can be BAD:
⚠️ Hard floors = no support or shock absorption
⚠️ Long periods can strain your arches and heels
⚠️ Existing foot pain (like heel pain or flat feet)
🚨 Avoid barefoot walking if you have diabetes
Reduced sensation means injuries can go unnoticed—and small problems can become serious.

Sometimes the best advice comes from the people around you.
A medical pedicure at a podiatry clinic isn’t just about appearance — it’s about keeping your feet healthy, comfortable, and pain-free.
When foot issues are treated by trained professionals, small problems can be addressed before they become bigger ones.
Your feet carry you every day.
Make sure they’re taken care of properly.

That sharp heel pain when you take your first steps out of bed is often a sign of plantar fasciitis.
The good news? It’s very treatable when caught early.
👣 Don’t push through the pain

My story to becoming a caring and devoted Foot Health Practitioner started a few years ago on my return to Cheltenham, my home town. I had been living and working for 10 years in a French ski resort with my husband and two daughters, running our own catered ski chalet. Participating in activities such as skiing, trekking and running I could see then the importance of looking after your feet. On my return to the UK, I continued my passion for running and started getting my feet looked after by Deborah Cross and her team at the Promenade Foot Clinic. After getting to know Debbie and her team, they planted the seed of an idea that this may be a perfect career choice for myself, 4 years later here I am qualified and working in the profession. After much dedication and commitment, I achieved a distinction in my exams and I am now working and achieving my goals. I now work alongside them as a member of the team working 2 days in the clinic and 3 days covering some of their outpatient appointments.
I finally feel I have a worthwhile career, my patients range from the very young to the elderly, dealing with a persistent verruca, a painful corn or simply trimming toenails all of what I do is important and necessary. Other treatments include, diabetic foot care, fungal nail infections and ingrowing/involuted toe nails.
I am self employed and offer appointments in the comfort of your own home (covering most of Gloucestershire) or at the Promenade Foot Clinic in Cheltenham. I also work at Badgeworth care home where I look after over 50 patients feet.
If you would like an appointment for yourself or an elderly relative, please do not hesitate to contact me.
