My name is Liam Boyle, a student entrepreneur based in Chester. Over the past year, I have been developing a range of high-quality vitamin gummies with the help of top food scientists in the NoWFOOD Centre. Vincovits was formed last year after spending years taking multivitamins and my friends telling me that I was wasting my money. I looked into how and why they would come to this conclusion and learnt that there were plenty of areas for improvement in vitamin supplements, especially gummies. I then set out to create a ‘perfect’ recipe for vitamin gummies that gave people the nutritional value that they were after, whilst also not having any drawbacks. I reached out and got help from expert food scientists from the NoWFOOD Centre in Chester and we came up with two formulas for vitamin gummies that are leaps and bounds ahead of the competition. I've won a few awards for my efforts, including 'Student of the Year' from Young Enterprise, the Dean's Commendation Award for Performance and I won the 2021 Venture Pitch at the University of Chester. Now, I am putting my plans into action. Vincovit's aim is to build the public's faith in vitamin supplements with new and innovative formulations. Its goals are to keep people healthy, expand into global markets and to keep the planet clean by using eco-friendly packaging. The USP that sets Vincovits apart from the competition is the specific formulations of the vitamin C and vitamin D gummies. For the vitamin C gummies, I use calcium ascorbate as the vitamin C instead of the industry standard ascorbic acid. This is because ascorbic acid is much more acidic than sugar with a pH level of 2.3 and so is more corrosive to enamel. Calcium ascorbate is completely neutral and so does not affect your teeth or your gut, something that is not seen in any other vitamin gummy. For the vitamin D gummies, I include vitamin K2 in my formulation as vitamin supplements that only include vitamin D can cause calcium to be drawn away from the bones and deposited in undesirable places such as your arteries and organs, which can cause increased blood pressure. The vitamin K2 directs the calcium back to the bones and so the vitamin D can perform its task effectively. This combination is not seen in any other vitamin D gummy. Furthermore, the gummies are sugar-free, vegan and contain natural colours and flavours and so can cater to most dietary requirements.
