Understanding Grief May 2026 Dates

Grief can feel overwhelming, but you don’t have to face it alone 🤍

Our Understanding Grief workshop is a safe, supportive 4-week series led by experienced counsellors. Together, we’ll explore your emotions, understand the grieving process, and find gentle ways to cope - all alongside others who truly get it.

A lovely dose of Easter cheer 🐣💛

Students from University of Chester have been busy spreading kindness by writing Easter cards for care home residents across Chester. A small gesture that means so much - bringing smiles, starting conversations, and helping residents feel remembered and connected this Easter.

Thank you to all students that have sent a counselling placement application/enquiry this year. Our team are currently processing each enquiry, and will be in touch soon if your availability matches the needs of our clients.

Due to the number of applications we have received, we are closing our applications until further notice. We expect to be able to re-open applications this summer, therefore please check back on our website in August.

Our low cost counselling for students, and supervision for students is still available so please contact info@healthboxcic.com if you'd like to find out more.

Since 2024, Healthbox CIC’s Home First project has supported over 180 patients across Cheshire West and Chester through more than 920 home visits following discharge from hospital.

Through tailored 1-to-1 support, our instructors have helped patients rebuild strength, confidence, mobility and independence in their own homes, while helping to reduce the risk of deconditioning, falls and hospital readmission.
Alongside our home visits, we have also been proud to deliver ward-based visits at the Countess Of Chester Hospital and Pinetum care home, supporting patients earlier in their recovery journey and encouraging safe movement and confidence from the outset.

We are extremely proud of the impact this project has had and grateful for the wonderful feedback received throughout.

Over the past few months, our Oral Health team have been working closely with Liverpool City Council to roll out the Mouthcare Matters oral health training for care homes!

We're pleased to share that through our digital training platform, the training has been completed by 138 care staff at 28 settings across Liverpool🦷

Staff are now equipped with the knowledge and confidence to support older people’s oral health, including areas like daily mouthcare and denture marking, making a real difference to quality of care.

It's so we want to give a big shout out to our fantastic social prescribing team!

As you know, we've hosted a social prescribing service in Ellesmere Port alongside One Ellesmere Port Primary Care Network for years, and we couldn't be more proud of the work they do every day to support the people of Ellesmere Port's wellbeing.

We also want to do a shoutout to Hollie, who works as a social prescribing link worker for care homes in Chester alongside Fountains Medical Practice Chester supporting residents to stay connected and improve their quality of life💚

Social prescribing is about more than treating symptoms - it’s about supporting the whole person, connecting people to local groups, activities and services that can genuinely improve their wellbeing and day-to-day life.
