Your Social Prescribing Link Worker can connect you with community activities and/or support options to improve your health and wellbeing. They enable people to have more control over their lives, develop skills and give their time to others, through involvement in community groups. They connect people to community groups and help the person to develop skills, friendships and resilience. South Hardwick PCN is made up of 9 GP surgeries:

Citizens Advice North East Derbyshire are offering free checks at local drop-ins:

• North Wingfield Community Resource Centre, Wednesday 5 November, 10.00am to 1.00pm

No appointment needed.

Do you know your blood pressure numbers? One in three adults in the UK have high blood pressure. High blood pressure rarely has any symptoms which is why it is called the ‘silent killer’. The only way to know you have the condition is to get your blood pressure measured.

If you're over 40 you can get your blood pressure checked for free with an NHS Health Check at your GP, at most pharmacies and in some workplaces too.

The Life Live Better Derbyshire healthy lifestyles team are also offering free blood pressure checks across the county, they'll be at Clay Cross Social Centre, Market Street, Clay Cross, S45 9JE this Saturday, 6th September 2025, from midday to 4pm.
