Mrs Valerie Reynolds of North Wingfield has sadly passed away at Dale Brook Care Home, Clay Cross aged 84 years.

Born in Tibshelf and a lifelong local resident.

Valerie was a housewife.

Val was a Jehovah’s Witness, and she loved talking about her beliefs. She loved walking in the Peak District and enjoyed driving.

Valerie was predeceased by her husband Ronald Patrick Reynolds and leaves her daughters Janice and Karen, 3 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.

A private funeral has taken place.

Mr Geoffrey Buckland of North Wingfield has sadly passed away at Chesterfield Royal Hospital aged 92 years.

Born in Danesmoor and a local resident for 20 plus years.

Geoffrey worked as a crane driver for Clay Cross Works then worked at Ashton Containers as a Corrugated Cardboard Maker.

His interests and hobbies were playing bingo in Working Men’s Club, Line Dancing, (Country and Western) Gardening, Stamp and Coin Collecting and he had an interest in Steam Trains.

Geoffrey was predeceased by his wife Josephine Buckland, and he leaves Son Steven Buckland, daughter Angela Wall, grandchildren Lucy, Megan, Emily and Rosie and great grandchildren Ava, George, Keeley and Jack.

The Funeral Service is due to take place on Monday 9th March 2026 at Chesterfield Crematorium at 12.00pm.

Donations in the memory of Geoffrey will be taken for Weston Park Hospital.

Mr John Raymond Meads of Belper has sadly passed away at home aged 82 years.

Born in Tansley Derbyshire and a lifelong resident of Belper.

John worked as a Maintenance Electrician (Coal board) 1960-1981. Landlord at the (Nags Head, Belper) 1981-1988, then as an Electrician 1988 until he retired in 2001.

His interests and hobbies were Travel, Model Railways, Socialising with friends and family.

John leaves his wife Dilys Elsie Meads, daughter Catherine Froggatt, son Patrick Meads, 4 grandchildren Oliver, Ellie, Jack and Amy.

The Funeral Service is due to take place on Monday 16th March 2026 at Amber Valley Crematorium, Swanick at 1.00pm.

Donations in the memory of John will be taken for Tree Tops Hospice.

Mr Martyn Mulvey of Tupton has sadly passed away at Chesterfield Royal Hospital on the 11th of February 2026 aged 65.

Born in Chesterfield and a lifelong local resident.

Martyn worked for Bryan Donkin from school, then Rentokil and finally at Solo Services Group.

His interests were golf, guitar, fishing, karate and bowling in his younger years, he also enjoyed exploring The Isles of Orkney with his dog Lulah.

Martyn leaves his wife Julie, daughters Katie, Joanna and Daniella. Martyn was predeceased by his daughter Ellen, he also leaves stepson James and 6 grandchildren.

The funeral service is due to take place on Monday 2nd March 2026 at Chesterfield Crematorium at 12.45pm.

Donations in memory of Martyn will be given to The British Heart Foundation.
