Mr Glyn Griffiths of Clay Cross has sadly passed away at Chesterfield Royal Hospital aged 92 years.

Born in Clay Cross and a lifelong local resident.

Glyn worked as a welder at Clay Cross Company.

His interests and hobbies were walking around Ashover and Ogston.

Glyn was predeceased by his wife Sylivia Ann Watson, and he leaves his partner Joan, daughter Lisa & brother Phillip.

The Funeral Service is due to take place on Tuesday 10th March 2026 at The Chapel, Market Street, Clay Cross at 12.30pm followed by burial in St Lawerence Churchyard at 1.15pm

Donations in the memory of Glyn will be taken for Alzheimer’s Society & Ashgate Hospice.

We are overwhelmed by the kind wishes and the love for Martyn, with old school friends, work colleagues and extended family making journeys across the country to honour his life with us.

Mrs Sharon Mary Owen of Grassmoor has sadly passed away at Chesterfield Royal Hospital aged 57 years.

Born in Chesterfield and has lived locally for many years.

Sharon enjoyed partying, karaoke, online shopping, going for a coffee and spending time with family.

Sharon leaves her children John, Jodi and Leon. Also leaves her sister, auntie, nieces, nephews, son-in-law, daughter-in-law, brother-in-law, uncle and cats.

The funeral service is due to take place on Monday 23rd of March 2026 at Chesterfield Crematorium at 1.30pm.

Donations will be taken in the memory of Sharon for Ashgate Hospice.

Mr Glenn Robert Boyes of Pilsley has sadly passed away at home aged 70 years.

Born in York and a local resident of Chesterfield for 4 years and he spent most of his life living in York.

Glenn worked as a general manager at a car dealerships, after his retirement he pursued a career as an artist.

His interests and hobbies were football, cricket, art and gardening.

Glenn leaves his wife Deborah, son’s Paul, Andy and Jonathan, daughter’s Amy and Helen, grandchildren Billy, Alfie, Betsy, Alice, Penelope, Bessie, George, Mabel, Bailey and Tom.

The Funeral Service is due to take place on Wednesday 18th March 2026 at York Crematorium at 1.00pm.

Mr Michael David Watson of New Whittington has sadly passed away at Morton Grange Nursing Home aged 78 years.

Born in Sheffield and a Chesterfield resident for 60 years.

Michael was the founder of A1 Garage Doors in 1996 and Mick retired in 2020.

He enjoyed spending with his family and grandchildren also riding motorbikes.

Michael leaves his wife Janet, sons Terry and Tony and 4 grandchildren.

The funeral service is due to take place on Friday 13th March 2026 at Chesterfield Crematorium at 3.00pm.

Mrs Gillian Mandy Woolven of Grassmoor has sadly passed away at Chesterfield Royal Hospital aged 64 years.

Born in Bromley, Kent and has lived in Grassmoor for over 40 years.

Gillian worked at Chesterfield Royal Hospital as a patient services assistant, and she retired in 2020 due to ill health.

Gillian enjoyed supporting Grassmoor Cricket Club and Chesterfield F.C, she also enjoyed playing bingo, attending and fundraising for The ABC (Affected by Cancer) Support Group.

Gillian leaves her husband Alan, son Craig, daughter Melissa, grandchildren Billy, Rebecca, Josh and Mia.
She also leaves mum June and sister’s Tracy and Donna.

The funeral service is due to take place on Friday 20th March 2026 at Chesterfield Crematorium at 10.30am.

The family have requested no flowers, but any donations will go to The ABC (Affected by Cancer) Support Group, run by Chesterfield F.C Community Trust.

The family would like to thank friends and family for such kind words and messages of support and sympathy they have received at this sad and difficult time, also thank you to everyone who attended the funeral service.
