✨ A Special Christmas Testimonial We Hold Close to Our Hearts ✨
This Christmas, we’re honoured to share a story that reminds us why we do what we do. 💜
We had the privilege of caring for June’s husband, Michael, for almost a year. For over 40 years, Michael attended Carols by Candlelight at his local church a tradition he deeply cherished. But following his MND diagnosis, he felt he could no longer go.
Our founder, Sophie, was heartbroken to think Michael would miss something that meant so much to him. So, with the help of June, our team, and a few wonderful friends, we brought the carols to him.
We arranged lights, music, candles, tinsel, Christmas jumpers, and gathered everyone on his front lawn. Michael had no idea what was about to happen until June gently pulled back the curtains and he saw us all singing just for him.
It was a truly magical moment. Michael’s face lit up, and he enjoyed his Christmas wish his beloved carols along with a little celebratory glass of sherry. 🎄✨
Every year since, we continue this tradition by visiting the homes of customers who are housebound, singing carols in Michael’s memory. You can find these moments in our Story Highlights, under “Michael’s Carols.” His joy and spirit continue to guide us.
There is something incredibly special about bringing happiness to those who spent a lifetime bringing happiness to others. Many older adults ask for so little and we are honoured to give back in every way we can, far beyond our usual visits.
