Do you occasionally question the safety of commercial flights?
I must say that commercial flights are really safe.
Everyone who flies or considers flying is concerned about their safety.
Commercial aviation is the only mode of transportation that is as closely examined, researched, and controlled.
Although though it sometimes seems like the most terrifying aspect of flying, turbulence is not a serious issue.
It can be uncomfortable, but turbulence is completely safe and a normal part of life, just like riding on a boat and occasionally encountering some waves.
Air in the atmosphere that is turbulent is the primary cause of turbulence. Jet streams cause abrupt variations in wind speed, which can cause the plane to shake.
Another type of turbulence is thermal, which is caused by hot air rising in the atmosphere, typically from cumulus clouds or thunderstorms.
Landscaping, mountains, or big buildings can alter the wind flow in the sky above, which results in mechanical turbulence.
Turbulence caused by aeroplanes can also influence aircraft flying behind one another, which is why aircraft avoid using the same takeoff and landing flight paths.
Modern aircraft are designed to survive even the most severe turbulence, despite the fact that pilots and air traffic control make great efforts to avoid it.
Intercom bings and chimes are signals that one crew member wants to talk to another, and they frequently signify that the flight deck is requesting the cabin crew for a coffee or a cup of tea!
