If I see something unusual or unexpected in your ear I will discuss this with you and refer on to your GP/ ENT.

Yes!

BSHAA associate members have access to professional resources, professional development, and a network of peers.

Members have access to training and professional development opportunities that align with the duty to undertake Continuing Professional Development.

They receive regular industry briefings and updates through e-bulletins and the professional journal, BSHAA People.

And they give you a lovely sticker for your window😜🤣😜

BORING BUT IMPORTANT!!!!

There’s a misconception that Ear Wax Removal practitioners need to be registered with CQC.

Whilst this is true for registered nurses and a small number of other professionals, it is not the case for everyone. Indeed, the government themselves declared that CQC were no longer fit for purpose (kettle/ pan????).

However…..

You should be choosing a provider that is experienced, insured, highly recommended and registered with either CQC or AHCS. These people have done part of the homework for you! They check my fitness to practice.

What is the AHCS and why does it matter?

AHCS stands for the Academy for Healthcare Science, a UK body that represents the healthcare science community across the country. Its main functions include working with professional bodies to set and maintain standards, quality-assuring education and training, and operating a voluntary, Professional Standards Authority (PSA)-accredited register for healthcare science professionals to demonstrate their commitment to quality and patient safety.
