Always thankful for feedback!

For this client, I introduced simple marketing support and a clearer sales funnel, while also supporting the founder with strategic thinking as the business grew.

Small changes behind the scenes can make a big difference to client flow, retention, and overall business momentum.

Most established founders have the same quiet thought: “I shouldn’t still be doing this.” You’ve built a real business. Revenue is consistent. The team is growing.

But you’re still doing tasks you shouldn't be. Not because you have to. Because it feels quicker than explaining it.

Here’s the reality many founders hit around £250k+ revenue:

If you’re still the safety net for every operational detail, you eventually become the bottleneck. Not because you’re incapable. Because everything still comes back to you.

Growing businesses don’t just need help when things get busy. They need consistent operational support from someone who:

• protects your time
• keeps things moving behind the scenes
• spots what’s slipping
• and quietly gets things done

You didn’t build a business to become its administrator.

If you’re finding yourself stuck in the operational detail, it might be time to change that. 📩 Send me a message if you’d like to talk about how that could look in your business.

Running a business means your week quickly fills up with things that simply need doing. A week for many founders can easily look something like this:

• 6 hours managing emails
• 4 hours organising diaries and meetings
• 3 hours chasing invoices or suppliers
• 3 hours dealing with day-to-day operations
• 2 hours formatting documents or proposals

That’s 18 hours a week.

If a founder’s time is worth around £100 per hour, that’s £1,800 of founder time each week spent on tasks that could often be handled elsewhere.

That’s £7,200 per month.
Or £86,400 per year.

Important work, but not always founder-level work.

Time that could instead be spent:

• building relationships
• developing opportunities
• thinking strategically
• leading the business forward

The right operational support doesn’t remove you from the business. It simply creates the space to focus on the work that actually drives it forward.

Today feels like a good moment to pause and appreciate the women around me.

I’m incredibly lucky that so many of the businesses I support are led by thoughtful, determined, brilliant women. Women who are building something meaningful while also navigating the realities of family life, responsibility, growth, and all the unseen work that comes with running a business.

As a female business owner myself, I know how much sits behind the scenes. The decisions, the resilience, the quiet determination to keep showing up even when things feel uncertain or heavy.

Supporting these women, helping bring clarity, structure, and a little calm into their businesses, is something I don’t take for granted.

So today I’m celebrating the women I work with, the ones building things in their own way, and the ones supporting each other along the way.

It’s a privilege to be part of that.

Happy International Women’s Day.

That didn’t take long…

My March “5 hours free” VA trial has now been claimed 🎉

Thanks to everyone who reached out. I’m excited to get started with the business who secured the slots.

For those wondering what can actually be achieved in just a few hours of support, here are a few examples:

✔ Sales funnel creation
✔ Planning a marketing schedule
✔ Organising client documents
✔ Updating systems

Sometimes a few focused hours of support can completely reset how a business runs.

Retail teams and customers don’t need more information. They need clarity.

A strong product training manual should make it easy to:

– explain the range
– recommend the right SKU
– justify the price
– convert hesitation into purchase

That’s how you protect margin.
That’s how you drive repeat orders.

Training isn’t admin.
It’s strategy.

We went to Shrewsbury this weekend.

I had a plan. Walk around the town. Explore. Family day out.

The weather was miserable.
The family weren’t on board.
My plan? Not working.

So I had to adapt.

Instead of forcing it (humble pie for me!), we wandered into Shrewsbury Indoor Market, and honestly, it ended up being a lovely, slower afternoon.

It got me thinking…

How often do we do this in business?

We set a plan.
We’re attached to it.
We push it - even when it’s clearly not working.

But good leadership (in business and in life) sometimes looks like this:

Recognising, “This isn’t working.”
Adjusting.
Trying a different route.

Not every pivot is a failure.
Sometimes it’s just responsiveness.

If something in your business feels heavy right now, ask yourself:
Is it time to push harder or adapt?

When my husband and I ran a business together, we needed one place to hold everything that needed doing. For us that place became Trello. And honestly, we still use it now when we need to plan.

Since then, I’ve introduced clients to different versions of the same idea, Google Tasks, Outlook task management, even just a basic Excel sheet with three columns.
It doesn’t have to be fancy. It doesn’t even have to be software. It just needs to exist.

Start using something, anything, consistently. I’m telling you, your head will feel lighter for it.

How to document a process in 15 minutes.

Yes - 15.

If you’ve done something more than twice in your business, it’s a process. And if it only lives in your head, it’s slowing you down.

Here’s the simplest way to capture it:

• Open a blank doc
• Write the task at the top
• Walk through it step-by-step as you do it
• Don’t polish it, just get it down
• Save it somewhere obvious

Done.

It doesn’t need to be perfect. It needs to exist.

Growing micro businesses don’t struggle because they lack talent. They struggle because everything sits in the owner’s brain.

One process documented = less mental load, easier delegation, clearer structure.

Start with one. Today.

Save this and block 15 minutes in your diary.

Busy is reactive.
Organised is intentional.

One drains you.
One supports you.

If you end every day shattered but unsure what you actually achieved… it’s probably not capacity you need. It’s structure.

Systems create breathing space.

Dear friends,

I hope this message finds you well. We’re reaching out to share some important news about Studio Bond. After much consideration, we’ve made the difficult decision to close the business, with operations ceasing at the end of January 2025. This decision has not been made lightly. The past couple of years have presented significant challenges including the economic climate. There are also other challenges and deep down we know it’s the right time to let go. As we prepare to wind down, we want to extend our heartfelt thanks for being part of the adventure. Whether you’ve supported us from the very beginning or joined us along the way, your encouragement and support have been amazing.

Nat will be moving on at the end of January to join a fantastic local company called Dylan’s, based on Anglesey. Dylan’s operates four restaurants and two general stores. If you happen to come to North Wales they’re definitely worth a visit!

Well done if you’ve made it this far! Please help us to clear our shelves and enjoy a discount on our final batches of goods. Head to our website for more details.

Once again, thank you for your support and for being part of the adventure.

Best regards,

Andy, Nat, Alfie, Ted and Mabel ###xx
