Our Big Hairy Audacious Goal at Bro-ga is to get 1,000,000 men on a mat in the UK. While it may sound crazy, that's what makes it audacious.

This mission is driven by the passion of Nora, my operations manager, our teachers, and myself. We are committed to spreading the message that yoga is just as beneficial for stiff, achy, middle-aged men as it is for everyone else.

This week, we released tickets for our February and April 5-Week Trial, which serves as the entry point for new men beginning their yoga journey.

Meet Lee, teacher of our Wednesday Farnham class.
I have always had a passion for the human body.
Whether through exercise, or movement, I have always found the mechanics of the human body fascinating
I originally trained as a sports therapist and weightlifting coach in Coleg Powys, Wales over 30 years ago and have been involved in the fitness and holistic industry in varying roles ever since.

As a personal trainer and class facilitator I have taught around the world on cruise ships as well as the privilege of teaching for Les Mills UK as a national trainer/presenter for Body Balance and Body Pump.

During this time, I developed a deep interest for yoga and the more subtle workings of the body, leading me to pursue qualifications in various movement therapies including classical Pilates (mat and floor) Franklin method, Intrinsic Biomechanics and various forms of yoga practice.

I have gained various qualifications including Seasonal Hatha yoga 500hr (YA)
Diploma in Hatha yoga (level3).
Diploma Yoga philosophy.
Yin yoga.
Scaravelli inspired yoga.
Franklin method Lower Spine and Pelvic floor.
Biomechanics back pain specialist.
SOMA Breath instructor.

Taking my education one step further I became a teacher trainer in posture analysis - movement correction,
Teacher trainer in Hatha yoga, Pilates Therapist, Biomechanics Master trainer and imovefreely trainer.
I have continued education with the Yoga alliance, Intrinsic biomechanics, Franklin method and SOMA Breath among many training providers.

Meet the Instructor – Bro-ga at Blackheath, Surrey.

Say hello to Christine, one of our brilliant Bro-ga guides!

With over 15 years of yoga experience, Christine brings a calm, down-to-earth approach that makes every class accessible, inclusive, and genuinely enjoyable — whether you’re completely new or already stretching like a pro.

Yoga first became part of Christine’s life as a way to ease lower-back pain and manage stress and anxiety. Over time, it grew into a daily practice and a passion — combining movement, breathwork, mindfulness, and meditation to support both body and mind.

Having completed a 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training in 2019 and a 300-hour Advanced Training in 2022, Christine now shares that experience with others — helping everyone discover the balance, strength, and focus that yoga brings.

A big shout-out to all 42 men kicking off their 5-week Bro-ga course this week

Whether you’re here to loosen up tight hamstrings, de-stress after work, or just earn that post-class beer 🍺 — you’re in the right place.

No egos. No pressure. Just a bunch of guys moving better, feeling stronger, and having a laugh along the way.

Stick with it — five weeks from now you’ll be amazed at the difference a solid stretch (and a few deep breaths) can make.

It’s all too easy to get carried away with that post-Christmas motivation — the “new year, new me” energy that makes us want to change everything at once.

Here’s my top tip:

If you’re telling yourself…
• “I’m stopping this…”
• “I’m starting that…”
• “I must…”
• “I’ve got to…”

Take a breath. Give yourself a break. Start the new year gently.

Because a simple, enjoyable habit done for 365 days beats a hard-core habit that lasts 14.

And if you’ve never really enjoyed exercise (or you’ve been put off by it), try this gentle stretch — it’s a guaranteed way to feel a little better… especially if you do it daily.
