RCW Veterans CIC At RCW Veterans, we provide confidential, compassionate support for those who’ve served - in the armed forces, police, fire or ambulance services.
(1)

RCW Veterans provides accessible, affordable wellbeing support for veterans and their families, creating a clear pathway to renewed purpose through holistic, non-clinical, and compassionate care.
01536 639041 We understand that life after service can bring its own challenges, and asking for help isn’t always easy. That’s why our approach is different: no waiting lists, no judgement, no complicated

systems - just real people who get it. Sessions are subsidised through Rak & Cat Wellbeing, meaning your community has already helped make this support possible. You’ve spent your life serving others, now it’s time for someone to serve and support you. How we help:

💬 1:1 Wellbeing & Coaching Support - tailored sessions addressing stress, anxiety, trauma, and confidence.

💆🏻‍♀️ Holistic Therapies - massage, reiki, relaxation and nervous system reset work.

🛠️ Practical Guidance - tools and techniques to manage triggers, improve sleep, build resilience and restore motivation. All sessions are designed to be practical, private and content-free. You don’t have to relive the past to move forward.

What a lovely day we had at our Veterans Brunch in the sunshine ☀️

We had such a great turnout, thanks everyone for showing up😁

Lee absolutely smashed it on the BBQ with burgers, sausages and bratty’s 🔥 cheers Manfred for bringing them in — they went down a treat.

It was so good to see some new faces as well — really hope you all enjoyed the day and felt welcome.

Gemma and her family brought along homemade sausage rolls (honestly, spot on 👌) and a gazebo which we definitely needed today — thank you again, you really are a star.
Brilliant to see Gordon too, making a surprise trip down from Huntingdon — that meant a lot.
And of course, our four-legged visitors Ruby and Marley 🐾 were on top form — so well behaved and enjoying the BBQ sausages 🌭
Good food, great company, and proper good vibes all round.
Thank you to everyone who came and supported — this is what it’s all about 💛

☀️ The sun’s making an appearance this Saturday… which means one thing… BBQ is ON! 🔥

We’ll have the grill fired up, and the kettle always ready ☕ — just how we like it at the cottage.

It’d be lovely to see some familiar faces and welcome some new ones too. If you’re free, come down and join us — bring a mate and enjoy a relaxed, home-from-home Saturday.

We’re really looking forward to seeing you all ❤️

We’re hosting our next veterans brunch 25 April and would love to see you there! Weather permitting, we’ll fire up the BBQ and make the most of the garden ☀️

Come along, enjoy some great food, relax outdoors, have a chat, and connect with others. Dogs are more than welcome too 🐾

It’s all about good company, fresh air, and a proper catch-up.

Looking forward to seeing you all there!

Sunday Spotlight - Volunteers!

This month’s been one of those that really reminds you what we are about — people just mucking in and having each other’s backs.

The fierce wind took our gate clean off, and Paul Harmon just got stuck in — fixed it, rehung it, gave it a fresh coat of paint, then even planted the flowers and arranged the hanging baskets.

Then on Saturday the kitchen tap packed up. One call and Brian Sheridan Plumbing & Heating came straight out, fitted a new one in under an hour and wouldn’t take a penny. Even cut and strimmed all the grass while he was here.

Veteran owned Eden Garden Services also popped in and gave the garden a proper tidy up, helping get everything looking good for our brunch

Big thanks as well to Gemma, Garry and Dave, Diane, Robbie, Leigh and all the RS team that have supported us this past year — you’re always there putting the time in and it really does mean a lot.

Supporting our veterans — people who’ve given so much and are now navigating life in civvy street — really matters. What we’re building here is making a genuine difference, bringing back that sense of belonging, purpose, and support that doesn’t just stop when service ends.

This place runs because of people like you. Thank you 👊

Appreciation post! Robbie Dunion.

Recently he gifted us something incredibly special — a framed photo of James Ashworth VC. Robbie was a good friend of James, and together we’ll make sure his memory lives on. It now takes pride of place in our reception, where it belongs.

Robbie has done so much for the cottage behind the scenes too — supporting our social media, helping shape our branding, bringing fresh ideas, creative planning, and design. He’s always thinking ahead and finding ways to move us forward.

Honestly, we don’t know where we’d be without him.

Top guy, and we’re grateful for everything you do. Thank you, Robbie!!

🌟 Sunday Spotlight – Gemma 🌟

A big shout out to Gemma this week for everything she’s been doing to support the Veterans Cottage.

She’s been non-stop – attending a meeting at the council to represent us and discuss Armed Forces Day, met with a fellow veteran Rosina at the Corby Cenotaph, took a moment to reflect on the service and sacrifice of those from our community, including James Ashworth VC. It also highlighted the need for renewed care and attention to this important place of remembrance. Consideration should be given to restoring the cenotaph, along with the addition of a dedicated plaque to formally recognise James Ashworth’s Victoria Cross, ensuring his bravery—and the legacy of all those remembered there—is honoured with the dignity it deserves.

The following day the kitchen’s had a fresh coat of paint, plus shelving and coat hooks up in no time (honestly, she makes it look easy!)

All of this while running her own creative business – and we’re lucky enough to have her literally around the corner ☺️

Gemma creates personalised clothing and workwear, and she’s got a brand new collection on the way, so definitely go and check her out and show some support. https://www.mamaestablished.co.uk

Too many veterans come home carrying things they were never meant to carry alone.
And the truth is… support doesn’t always come from where it should.

That’s why places like ours matter so much.

It’s more than just a space — it’s somewhere you can finally exhale.
Somewhere you’re understood without having to explain.
Somewhere healing can begin.

Because when the system falls short… community steps in.
And sometimes, that community saves lives.
