RCW Veterans CIC

RCW Veterans CIC At RCW Veterans, we provide confidential, compassionate support for those who’ve served - in the armed forces, police, fire or ambulance services.
(1)

RCW Veterans provides accessible, affordable wellbeing support for veterans and their families, creating a clear pathway to renewed purpose through holistic, non-clinical, and compassionate care.
01536 639041 We understand that life after service can bring its own challenges, and asking for help isn’t always easy. That’s why our approach is different: no waiting lists, no judgement, no complicated systems - just real people who get it. Sessions are subsidised through Rak & Cat Wellbeing, meaning your community has already helped make this support possible. You’ve spent your life serving others, now it’s time for someone to serve and support you. How we help:

💬 1:1 Wellbeing & Coaching Support - tailored sessions addressing stress, anxiety, trauma, and confidence.

💆🏻‍♀️ Holistic Therapies - massage, reiki, relaxation and nervous system reset work.

🛠️ Practical Guidance - tools and techniques to manage triggers, improve sleep, build resilience and restore motivation. All sessions are designed to be practical, private and content-free. You don’t have to relive the past to move forward.

Today in the sunny garden at RCW HQ we had local veteran Garry Wall back with us.

Garry brought along copies of his book and his T-shirts — and you can now order signed copies directly through us.

Three years ago Garry was given just three months to live. Today, he’s still here, still fighting, still serving others — and still inspiring everyone he meets.

He is currently battling cancer with the same grit and determination he carried through his military service. His mindset, resilience and positivity are something truly humbling to witness.

If you want to understand strength, perspective and what “time is precious” really means, read his story. It’s raw, honest and deeply moving.

Garry doesn’t just talk about resilience — he lives it. Alongside his own fight, he continues to support charities and give back wherever he can.

If you’d like to purchase a book or T-shirt, message us and we’ll sort it for you or order online https://shop.timeisprecious.co.uk

Time is precious. And so are people like Garry. 💛

What a day at our very first Armed Forces Brunch at The Cottage 🇬🇧

From the moment the doors opened, the room was filled with warmth, connection and that unmistakable sense of camaraderie that never really leaves you. We had Navy, RAF and Army represented – and seeing all three services under one roof, sharing stories and laughter, was brilliant.

A huge thank you to Lee and Jim for their incredible support in preparing and helping launch the day. We couldn’t have done it without you both. You’ve made such an impact in such a short amount of time.

To everyone who came along — thank you.
Thank you for showing up.
Thank you for opening up.
Thank you for your honesty.

There were powerful conversations, shared experiences, inspiration, belly laughs… and yes, a few tears too. It was real, it was human, and it was exactly why we do what we do.

We networked, conversations flowed effortlessly, and the energy in the cottage was just beautiful. Thank you to everyone who donated, for the dart board, the table tennis table — every contribution helped create such a welcoming, relaxed space.

A special mention to our youngest attendee, beautiful baby boy Axel, who may have stolen the show! He was the perfect guest, happily soaking up all the action and reminding us what the future is all about.

We were also honoured to have Gary Wall with us, signing copies of his brilliant book “Time is Precious – Waste It Wisely”. Books, hoodies and T-shirts were sold, with proceeds going to Macmillan Nurses — an amazing cause close to many hearts.

This wasn’t just a brunch.
It was connection.
It was community.
It was the beginning of something meaningful.

If you’re a veteran and would like to join us next time, please drop us a message. You are always welcome here.

We’re so excited to see what comes next !

Huge thank you to A1 Plumbing & Heating for their very generous £100 donation towards our Veterans Brunch this Saturday! 🚰🔥

Honestly… who knew pipes and radiators could warm hearts as well as homes? 🥰

Your support means the bacon will be sizzling, the brews will be flowing, and our veterans will be well looked after (and probably arguing about who makes the best tea as usual).

We’re so grateful when local businesses step up like this — it really does make a difference. Community supporting community, just how it should be.

See you all this Saturday 10am–12pm… come hungry, bring your smiles, and we’ll put the kettle on ☕💚

Right… we’re starting something a bit different and we need your help.
We’re launching our Armed Forces Brunch at the Cottage — good scran, proper tea & coffee, darts, plenty of banter, and most importantly a place where serving personnel, veterans and their families can just be themselves.

👉 Please give this a share

👉 Tag a veteran or serving mate

👉 Help us reach someone who might not ask for support but could really use it

We’re also on the lookout for local businesses who fancy sponsoring future brunches — food, brews, prizes, or funding. You’ll be backing your local Armed Forces community and helping us take care of those who’ve taken care of us 🇬🇧💪

Let’s build something solid, supportive, and a little bit legendary.

Brew on. Banter flowing. Community first. All services. All ranks. Always welcome.

This year marks 15 years since the end of the Iraq War.

To mark the anniversary we are inviting all those who served in the conflict, their family members, and those who lost loved ones, to come together at the National Memorial Arboretum on Friday 22 May.

The national commemorative event will ensure the Armed Forces community’s unique contribution is not forgotten, and remember the 179 British personnel who lost their lives.

Weekly Update – Momentum, Movement & Plenty of Laughter!

What a week it’s been!
Yesterday we kicked off with a brilliant team brainstorming session – putting our heads together, sharing ideas and mapping out the next steps.

We’re also organising our upcoming brunch (which we’re really looking forward to 🥂) and we’ve updated and improved our Wellness pathway to make sure the support we provide is clearer, stronger, and even more effective.

This week we’ve:
Liaised with other veteran charities to explore collaboration and strengthen our missions together.
Talked to local veterans in business leading the way – they’re helping drive the Armed Forces Covenant forward. Connecting with veterans globally, asking the right questions and focusing on delivering practical solutions.
In just one week, four veterans have trusted us enough to reach out. We are actively supporting them with housing, health, and wellbeing — and we are proud and honoured to do so.

There’s a real sense of momentum. No veteran should ever face disadvantage — and we’re committed to making sure they don’t.

We’ve also had plenty of laughs along the way discovering that classic squaddie humour! You’ve got to have a laugh on the journey, right?

It’s amazing to feel the growing support from our community. We genuinely feel like we have more backing than ever before.
Thank you everyone.

We’re thrilled to announce and welcome Lee Pearce to the team as a Director of RCW Veterans CIC. After 24 years of service in the British Army, he joins us as our Military Liaison Officer, bringing invaluable experience and a strong desire to support and give back to the veteran community.

“I’m honored to step into this role after 24 years in the British Army. Having served seven operational tours and reached the rank of Sergeant Major, I know firsthand the challenges our veterans face after service. Now, I’m dedicated to ensuring no one faces those challenges alone.”

We’re here to offer a bridge to the support you need. Whether it’s treatment options, signposting to respected organisations like the Royal British Legion, SSAFA, and regimental associations, or connecting you with employment opportunities—we’ve got your back. If you’re struggling—be it housing, homelessness, finances, or mental health—come to us. We’ll listen, guide, and walk beside you. Together, we’ll ensure you find the right support—because you deserve to thrive. Let’s take that first step.

You can contact Lee via email lee@rcwveterans.co.uk
