Many of our client's who may initially have been reluctant to receive support by our care professionals, soon begin to enjoy looking forward to the visits from them and comment how beneficial the support and relationship that is built, impacts their lives in a wholesome way.

It is quite common for children of loved ones to contact us initially to arrange support for their parents or loved ones that need help in the home, however, the loved one at times feels that they do not need support until such time where a crisis occurs such as a fall, or accident suffered by the loved one needing the support or a mental health breakdown by the primary (family) carer.

A big shout out to Dave Atkins for his tireless efforts and Coventry Dementia Partnership Hub for continuing to be such a great space for the community.

We are delighted to inform you that we won not one but two awards plus a special mention at the national Dementia Care Awards last week.

Dave Atkins won the “Inspirational Person living with Dementia” award for his work in not only co-producing the vision for the hub but his ongoing commitment as a member of the steering group and his “chat with Dave” session that he runs twice a week.

April Ross won the “Co-production and partnership” award for her work on delivering the hub in partnership with our key stakeholders including people with dementia like Dave.

We thank all our partners at the hub and not to forget the team based there especially Debbie Farrell the manager. It could not run without you!

In the same category, our partners Sky blues in the community and Coventry and Warwickshire partnership trust were awarded “highly commended” for their Dementia Active work across the city.
