Think about getting some resistance bands as part of your ageing well routine. Carole will share some simple exercises that include walking & strength training- no fancy gym membership needed, just access to a wall & a chair.

I saw this post recently on Facebook & thought I’d share the content about foods that help us feel fuller for longer.
I’ve been changing my eating routine for the last 12 months & all of these now play an important part of my healthy eating habits to age well.
The one that shocked me was potatoes (deep fried chips or processed frozen ones don’t count)
It’s not rocket science it’s just what nature produces!
What one thing will you change each week?

Here’s what actually works:

đŸ„‘ Avocados
Packed with healthy fats and fiber to regulate appetite hormones, balance blood sugar, and keep you full.

đŸŒŸ Chia Seeds
High in soluble fiber. They create a gel-like substance in your stomach to keep you full for longer.

đŸ„” All Potatoes
These nutrient-dense, slow-digesting carbs are one of THE most satiating foods out there. Potatoes are from the earth and GOOD for weight loss.

đŸ„Ł Oats
High in fiber and releases several hormones to keep you full. These carbs are from the earth too.

đŸ„š Eggs + Egg Whites
High in protein, lowers hunger hormones, and peptides in egg whites help manage blood sugar.

đŸ„› Greek Yogurt
High in slow-digesting protein, contains probiotics for gut health, and keeps you full.

🍗 Lean Meat
High in protein, reduces ghrelin (your hunger hormone), and boosts metabolism because it burns calories during digestion.

🐟 Fish
High in protein and packed with omega-3 fatty acids that help down-regulate hunger and appetite.

🍓 Berries
Lower in sugar than most fruits, has fiber and antioxidants, so it keeps blood sugar balanced.

What do you do to help you age well?
Yesterday I attended an event in Birmingham & was shocked when I heard this comment “ageing is a disease” absolutely not! Yes there are diseases associated with aging but ageing is a process not a disease.
I saw these lovely cartoons by a doctor & thought they were great.

Ever wondered why putting one foot in front of the other keeps you healthy?
Loved this simple post about those daily steps.
You don’t have to do the 10’000 steps in one walk break it down into 3 or 4 shorter walks especially after eating to really feel the benefits & up the speed to feel even more.

As we approach the full on festivities of Christmas đŸ€¶ remember to take some time to look after you too.
I have a relaxing way to start the day. Coffee, journal & the pups sitting on my lap as I look out on my garden. I love seeing the changes & watching the sun rise as a way to embrace each new day.
What do you do to start each day? Often having no plans works wonders too - your welcome 💛🧡💚
