Following the first session of Action for Happiness’ Happiness Habits course, focusing on gratitude, participants enjoyed some time getting to know each other over a coffee. We’re looking forward to meeting up again and continuing our course tomorrow.

Happiness Habits is a course that helps you build daily wellbeing, be part of a supportive community and make lasting life changes. For more information go to https://actionforhappiness.org/course.

Volunteer Spotlight - Sue ✨🔦

Sue was previously responsible for the City of London parks and green spaces so she knows a thing or two about planting and growing! Sue runs the allotment every Sunday morning weather permitting with support from other leaders- a great team! She can also be found volunteering her time and skills at most of our events.
If it’s too wet or cold for the allotment, Sue leads a walk to warm everyone up. She is also know to rustle up a cake to tempt volunteers.

Would you like to help at the allotment? Do you have other skills in horticulture, nature or anything else that others might enjoy learning from you? Get in touch via the website link in our bio.

Volunteer spotlight ✨🔦

Each week we’ll be sharing information about one of our volunteers and how they use their talents to promote health, wellbeing and social inclusion.

Do you have a skill you could share?

We would love to hear from you if you could spare some time, as a one off, or more regularly to share your skills, insight, knowledge or passion in a way for others to enjoy and support wellbeing.

Contact us if you have an idea for something you would like to do. hello@wellbeingintheweald.co.uk

The first of our volunteer spotlights will be posted tomorrow. 🌟

A big thank you to the Samphire Trust for funding a new strimmer and mower which are ready for use on the allotment in Spring.

The strimmer has already proved itself and the batteries last very well in use.

We’ll update you here when our Sunday morning allotment sessions begin again in March.

There was plenty of glamour at Wednesday’s Craft Group this week ✨
Pippa was modelling her own stunning creation – a beautifully crocheted jumper! 🧶

Our Craft Group and Welcome Wednesday Drop-In takes place every Wednesday from 2–3:30pm at St Dunstan’s Church.

Everyone is welcome 💛

Bring along your own craft project, or if you’re new to crafting, simply pop in for a chat. Enjoy a cup of tea, some delicious cake, and maybe discover a new skill with the help of others.

New beginnings don’t always wait for spring! ❄️🌷

They can start quietly, with someone offering a little time, sharing a skill, or saying yes to getting involved.

Our volunteers make everything we offer possible. The more people get involved, the more groups, activities and welcoming spaces we can create, and the more our community benefits.

Want to help something new grow? 🌱

The Weald is looking stunning in the winter sunshine but January and the quieter months can sometimes feel tough. Small moments of connection can make a big difference.

At Wellbeing in the Weald, there are lots of ways to spend time together, from a relaxed coffee and chat, to a craft group, youth sessions, gentle yoga, or time in the allotment. Whether you feel like getting out into nature or settling in somewhere warm and welcoming, there’s something for everyone.
Curious to find out more? Visit our website, link in bio and keep an eye on our socials for upcoming events.

Christmas isn’t always merry for everyone, and it can highlight loneliness and struggle for many people.
Small steps like regular movement, staying in touch with others, or asking for support can help.

Wellbeing in the Weald

Wellbeing is important to us all. It’s not just about healthy eating and regular exercise. Wellbeing is more to do with feeling good about ourselves, getting the most out of our lives and feeling connected to other people. It enables us to cope when life gets tough or when our health suffers. Wellbeing in the Weald has been formed by a group representing a cross section of the community including a local GP, Dr Dineli Charlesworth. Our aim is to organise new and promote existing wellbeing activities in the Weald including community walks, lunch clubs, choirs, volunteering and other social activities that bring people together on a regular basis.

We are keen to hear from anyone (16-106 years) who would like to help set up or simply attend our wellbeing activities and events. If you are already involved in an activity that promotes wellbeing, please let us know!
