“It never goes to plan anyway…”

I hear this all the time when it comes to birth plans—and I get it.

Birth is unpredictable. Things shift. Timelines change.

But here’s the truth: just because birth isn’t fully in your control doesn’t mean your voice shouldn’t be heard.

A birth plan isn’t about scripting every moment.

It’s about understanding your options, clarifying your values, and making sure your care team knows what matters most to YOU.

Because when you’re deep in labour, you shouldn’t have to explain yourself.

Your birth plan speaks for you.
It protects your autonomy.
It invites respect.

And even if everything changes… it can still shape how you feel about your experience.

Don’t skip this step. Your voice matters!
