Crewkerne Community Kitchen

Crewkerne Community Kitchen We give food shops can't sell to anyone to eat through our community fridge. More at www.opendoorssomerset.org.uk

Also run Chop & Chat cooking group on fridays and a Repair Hub fortnightly on saturdays. Crewkerne Community Kitchen gives away food that shops can't sell to people who would like to eat it. Thanks to support from Crewkerne Town Council we have space at the George Reynolds Centre, South St Crewkerne TA18 8DA, and open on Mondays 11-1pm, Tuesdays 11.30-12.30pm and Thursdays 9.30 to 11am. Any donations are welcome - cash helps cover the cost of insurance, and volunteers picking up the food. We also run the Chop & Chat cooking group on Fridays from 11am - 2pm; join a group of people preparing and eating delicious healthy food on a budget at the Speedwell Hall, 5 Abbey St Crewkerne TA18 7HY. We ask for a £3 voluntary contribution for those that can afford it, which covers the cost of ingredients - usually we prepare a 2 course meal and there's often leftovers!

Hello, our superb sister organisation WATCH CIO supports the Crewkerne Grief Hub are looking for a volunteer to help them out.

The Grief Hub is held at The Henhayes Centre on the first Thursday of the month from 11am - midday.

The sessions are run by Maria Bailey from Grief Specialists UK. The volunteer would support the session, sort out refreshments and complete registration/ attendance forms.

Usually there are four-five people there, which works well. Maria kindly volunteers her time and expertise, so this is an incredibly valuable resource for our community.

We are not charged for room hire for this and The Henhayes Centre provides refreshments, also free of charge.

If you or anyone you know is interested in this, please get in touch with the WATCH Project - email info@watchproject.org.uk or phone 01460 712119 and ask to speak to Samantha Norris. Thankyou!!

A big THANK-YOU to Connor and his team at Poundland Crewkerne for collecting items for our community pantry, generosity like this makes such a difference at this time of year for families trying to cover costs of bills and household expenses. What a great community we have 😍
