Also run Chop & Chat cooking group on fridays and a Repair Hub fortnightly on saturdays. Crewkerne Community Kitchen gives away food that shops can't sell to people who would like to eat it. Thanks to support from Crewkerne Town Council we have space at the George Reynolds Centre, South St Crewkerne TA18 8DA, and open on Mondays 11-1pm, Tuesdays 11.30-12.30pm and Thursdays 9.30 to 11am. Any donations are welcome - cash helps cover the cost of insurance, and volunteers picking up the food. We also run the Chop & Chat cooking group on Fridays from 11am - 2pm; join a group of people preparing and eating delicious healthy food on a budget at the Speedwell Hall, 5 Abbey St Crewkerne TA18 7HY. We ask for a £3 voluntary contribution for those that can afford it, which covers the cost of ingredients - usually we prepare a 2 course meal and there's often leftovers!

Our community fridge is open today from 11-12pm, everyone welcome!
This is just one of the things that Open Doors Somerset offers in Crewkerne and we hope to do much much more when we open our new hub on west St in January including workshops based around environmental impact, reuse and repair.
We have partnered with Aviva Community Fund who are matching every penny donated to our workshop fundraiser... we have already raised £430 which is fantastic, many thanks to those generous supporters!
If you can spare a pound or two this month please consider donating to our fundraiser every 🪙 really does count and will be doubled by Aviva!

Hooray! To celebrate our new community hub we have paired with Aviva Community Fund to raise money to run workshops at our new space in 2026! We want to provide provide workshops and resources to help people make more sustainable choices, to help reduce household costs and to tackle the climate crisis. Workshops would include how to reduce food waste, grow your own ingredients, reduce your energy costs, reuse and recycle and lots more green initiatives including technology!
Every pound donated will be matched (up to £250) by Aviva!
