💕Why Choose Hand on Heart Baby Massage?

There are lots of places that you can learn baby massage, some health visitors provide classes, you can find techniques online, or even as a way to relax at the end of other types of baby classes. These are brilliant ways to introduce you to massage.

💕So what is different about Hand on Heart Baby Massage?

I am proud to say that I trained with Blossom and Berry Baby Massage and spent 12 weeks learning about the history of baby massage, about anatomy and physiology and about the importance of nurturing touch on our babies development and mental health.
After working with families for the last 5 years I am passionate about supporting new parents during those important first 1001 days. I am constantly learning and refreshing and deepening my knowledge in order to serve you and your babies the best I can.

💕What happens during your classes?

Our baby massage classes are so much more than just another course. It’s a full immersive nurture experience. We take time to connect with our babies, to be truly present and in the moment in order to communicate love through nurturing touch.

Our sessions are calm and free from distractions allowing you to be one on one with your baby in a safe and secure environment to help create a love bubble for you and your baby to bond and connect and show one another love.

We spend time focusing on parents too to ensure each parent feels heard and supported and valued.

Our courses are accredited by the Royal College of midwives, Federation of holistic therapists, IICT and CTHA. We are insured by Westminster Professional indemnity Insurance.

In addition to this I am a mum of 3 and love talking and sharing my experiences. I am always happy to support you and hold space for you.

💕Our Hand on Heart baby massage courses allow you to venture out to your first taste of baby classes with no worries about if your baby doesn’t “conform” to the class.

💕During our classes we lead by our babies we start to get to know our babies better and learn to understand their different cues and how we can respond to them.

Twins

I was lucky enough to have my first set of twins at Hand on Heart Baby Massage and just look at this beautiful graduation photo ❤️❤️

There is no extra charge for twins as the course charge is per family.
Two mats/towels/blankets will be provided and twins are positioned next to Jodie the baby massage instructor who is always available to help and more than happy for baby cuddles! 🥰

It can be quite daunting attending baby classes for any new parent but can be even harder for parents of multiples. Please know that our classes are kept small and intimate to ensure we provide the optimum conditions for bonding and getting to know other new parents.

I provide a safe, non judgemental environment where all parents can be seen and heard and allow you to learn a lifelong skill.

So I’ve been in denial this week about turning 40 but today I had a lovely day with my husband at a sculpture park for my birthday treat and stumbled across this plaque which really resonated with me.

I talk a lot in our classes about being truly present and in the moment and this was a good reminder today. ❤️

G R A D U A T I O N D A Y

It’s always bittersweet on Graduation day, I love that we have completed a full baby massage routine but it’s always sad saying Goodbye.

It’s been a wonderful 5 weeks and I’m so honoured when families choose my course. Putting their trust in me in those all important first few months.

I love holding space for parents and allowing them to share their experiences with one another, I believe that parents deserve to be held as much as babies. This is why there is so much more to my courses than Baby Massage alone.

My next course in Yeovil starts on Friday 24th February and there is just one space left however do keep your eyes peeled for a new venue starting soon in Beaminster!

Imbolc Blessings

Marking the mid point between Yule(Winter Equinox) and Ostara (Spring equinox) Imbolc is a great reminder that spring is stirring.

I feel like I have been hibernating for the last month but with the snowdrops appearing and the light returning it’s the perfect time to celebrate new beginnings.

For me this means setting intentions, making plans for the upcoming year and spring cleaning!

It’s important to ensure that it’s the right time for both you and your baby when it comes to a massage.

Today in our class we talked about the butterfly hug which is a really great grounding technique.

Taking time to connect to your breath allows you to be truly present.

This can also be a helpful way to settle your baby. Holding them in your arms, close to your chest with your hands in a butterfly on their back and gently tap your hands in a rhythmic way. Inhaling and exhaling to help you both relax. 💕
