Happy Halloween 👻 we had lots of fun at our Halloween Party this afternoon! 🎃

We love our nursery visits 😄💖

Thank you to Beanlands Nursing home for a lovely visit this afternoon.

We enjoyed playing with the toys and colouring, had a yummy snack of fruit and cake and finished up with some singing!

The residents very kindly gave all the children a lovely little pumpkin to take home they had paid!

Weekly activity update 🎃🍁

Monday - we made pom poms and then spent some time exploring sensory items such as fragrant bags and fidget items.. some of them are really soothing and calming to use!

Tuesday - Teddy visited us in the afternoon and we enjoyed lots of cuddles!

Wednesday - we had an exciting trip out to Cliffs Castle in the afternoon.. it was wonderful to see the exhibitions and the residents enjoyed coffee and cake in the conservatory 🍰

Thursday - Shimmering Stars nursery paid us a visit and it brought lots of joy! Together we did some colouring, read a story and then sang some songs. We all joined in with all the popular nursery rhymes 🎶🥁

Friday - the morning was spent reading and replying to some wonderful cards we received from pupils at South Craven.. we really enjoy connecting with our local community! … Friday afternoon was all about Bingo! Well done to all the winners 😃🍫

Halloween Coffee Morning 🎃👻

Thank you to family and friends for joining us for our monthly coffee morning.. we enjoyed tea, coffe and cakes ☕️🍰

Everyone also got creative decorating pumpkins ready for Halloween 🎃

It’s always so wonderful welcoming visitors to Beanlands 😄💗

This weeks activities 🍁

Monday - due to the power cut on Monday morning we went back to basics and enjoyed some board games ♟️ . The afternoon was all about exercise.. with some armchair exercises and balloon tennis 🏓

Tuesday - Merlin the poodle visited us in the afternoon.. he is such a good boy, very well behaved and the residents love to see him 🐕‍🦺

Wednesday - in the morning we collected our pumpkins from Morrisons, along with some shopping for nail polish 💅. We then had creative afternoon, with some flower arranging, colouring and painting. We started a group painting of an autumn tree, we used cotton buds which made it accessible for many as well as creating an interesting picture 🎨

Friday - we enjoyed our usual games afternoon on Friday, with our usual favourite game of domino’s! We also carried on our current jigsaw… finally finishing it! There were a couple of pieces missing but we are so happy to complete it after all the time spent on it! Doesn’t it look good 🧩😄

Sunday - we welcomed families and friends this morning for our monthly coffee morning, with a Halloween twist 🎃.. check out all of our pumpkins! They will look great decorating the conservatory and getting Beanlands in the Halloween spirit, ready for our Halloween Party on the 31st 👻

A big thank you to Morrisons Skipton for donating some pumpkins for our Coffee & Cake & Crafts morning this Sunday 19th October at 10.30 🎂

Families and friends are welcome to join us for hot drinks, cakes and pumpkin decorating 🎃☕️🧁

❗️Information for families ❗️
To make you all aware, we currently have a power cut so our phone lines and computers are down. All residents are safe, warm and fed and we are adapting and making do. We are expecting the power back on this afternoon.

Due to this we are not accepting visitors at the moment due to safety. You can contact through our Facebook and we hope to be back to normal this afternoon.

Our week in activities 🪩

Monday - we had a pamper with nail painting and hand massages 💅

Tuesday - it was all about music this day! We listened to lots of good songs, had a sing along and talked about our favourite tunes. It was also a good opportunity to get moving, with a little dance and keeping the balloons up! 🎈💃

Wednesday - we started the morning with a church service, then after lunch we enjoyed a visit from Teddy, residents enjoyed cuddles and giving him a stroke. We then had a trip out to Keighley Tarn to feed the geese. Watching the birds brought lots of joy and the views on the way home were beautiful 😍

Friday - on the morning we took another look at the M&S archive memory box before we send it back.. it was lovely to reminisce on what we used to wear! We then had our Friday afternoon games, with domino’s, colouring as well as working hard on our current jigsaw!

A wonderful week 😁

A week of activity pictures… 👋

Monday - We enjoyed some reminiscing, playing a memory game and chatting about times in our lives and then looking though the M&S memory box.. which had lots of interesting clothing from the 40’s, 50’s, 60’s and 70’s. We enjoyed looking through the items!

Tuesday - We welcomed Merlin the poodle and also made lots of poms poms and enjoyed some knitting 🧶

Wednesday - Some beautiful paintings were done in our Arts & Crafts activity 🎨

Friday - A big thank you to Shimmering Stars Nursery for visiting us! They enjoyed a play and then we all had a sing along, singing all the nursery rhymes!

Sunday - Another dog visit for this morning, Maddie brought in the beautiful Peaches, the residents loved meeting her, giving her a stroke and a treat! We then we enjoyed some classical music, bingo and jigsaw time! We have a big jigsaw on the go.. hopefully we can finish it off next week!
