I had the opportunity to go along to to host a sound bath for their volunteers. ✨️

TSP is a volunteer run charity that focuses on su***de prevention.

One thing people will hear me say is, "Who cares for the carers?". The people who care for use, who look after our physical and mental needs, tend to be the group that hit burn out the fastest and hardest, they are also a high-risk group for chronic illness. (speaking from experience)

This is why I am so grateful to be able to offer these services to the people out the caring for and protecting your community members πŸ’›

Why gratitude actually works (and it’s not just positive thinking)

Gratitude changes the brain.

When you consciously focus on what’s going well, you activate areas of the brain linked to reward, motivation and emotional regulation. Over time, this repeated focus strengthens neural pathways associated with safety, calm and optimism β€” a process known as neuroplasticity.

At the same time, gratitude helps down-regulate the stress response. Cortisol levels reduce, the nervous system shifts out of fight-or-flight, and the body is more likely to move into a parasympathetic (rest-and-restore) state. This is why gratitude practices are linked to lower stress, better sleep, improved mood and even reduced perception of pain.

The key is repetition.
The brain learns by what you consistently return to. The more often you practise gratitude β€” even for small, neutral things β€” the more your brain learns to scan for safety rather than threat.

Gratitude doesn’t ignore reality.
It retrains how your nervous system responds to it.

Get to know me ✨️

I thought it was time I got on camara and introduced myself properly.

I had been thinking and dreading doing a get to know me video for a couple of weeks. I wanted to do it in a nice setting feel and look good. But I was really feeling the fear and putting this off. 😬

But today, on my rainy dog walk, I decided to go for it. No hair done, no make-up, no perfect camera angles, just me! And I am posting before my brain feeds me a million and one reasons not to

Why choose an at-home sound bath? 🏑✨

🏑 Comfort creates deeper relaxation

Being in your own space tells your nervous system it’s safe. You’re already relaxed before the session even begins β€” no travel, no unfamiliar surroundings, no rushing home afterwards.

🧠 Your brain responds more quickly

Sound baths use vibration, rhythm and frequency to gently guide brainwaves from busy beta into slower alpha and theta states β€” where calm, creativity and emotional processing happen.
At home, without external stimulation, the brain can shift states faster and stay there longer.

This helps the nervous system learn relaxation rather than just briefly visit it.
