🍂As the cold weather sets in, don’t forget your ears! They’re more delicate than you think and the Cumbrian weather can take its toll.

Heres how you can help protect them:

1️⃣ Keep your ears warm
Cold air can cause the tiny muscles and blood vessels around your ears to tighten, leading to earache or increased sensitivity. Pop on a hat, ear muffs, or a headband when you’re out and about.

2️⃣ Avoid moisture
Rain, snow, or even long showers can lead to trapped moisture and that can increase your risk of infection, especially if you already have wax build-up.

3️⃣ Watch out for blocked ears
Cold weather can thicken ear wax, making it harder for it to clear naturally. This can cause muffled hearing, ear pressure or discomfort and / or ringing in the ears.
