Over the past couple of weeks, the children have been immersed in rich, seasonal changing experiences. We explored Autumn into Winter through sensory tuff trays, winter story invitation tuff trays and creative crafts including poppy art and autumn colour stamping. The children investigated nature, colours and textures, and experimented with science using our digital microscope—learning how to handle slides, focus lenses and observe tiny details.
Through play like weighing/ balancing acorns etc and counting using hands on visuals, they developed early STEM thinking, fine motor skills, creativity, imagination, early literacy and numeracy. We also spoke about hibernation and migration as we seen more geese fly past. A wonderful few weeks of discovery, magic and child-led exploration.
