When I started the process of sharing this journey, I promised it wouldn't be sugar-coated.
Week 1 was great.
Week 2 was even better...
It almost felt silly how positive it had all been. So I will not hide this far more difficult week, because you need to recognise that therapy is intended to help you go THROUGH the hard things, not around them.

Since recording this I have had ups and downs from one day to the next, but I am firmly into week 4 of the process, which is the yoga and somatic week, supporting me to move through the grief from my week 3 decision.

They gave us other people and we said "Let's put a screen between us".
We spoke to the humans via the screens and they said "You can just Google that".
Now AI gives us a two-way conversation.

Week 2 of the journey and this was the phase.
Neuro-Linguistic Programming is great for understanding the internal thought processes that drive our external behaviours.
Here's a summary of what mine looked like, starting at the obvious external response that I couldn't justify my intense reactions to, and digging into what really drives that:

“Interruptions ruin my focus”
→ “Losing focus threatens progress”
→ “Stalled progress threatens my future”
→ “I must protect time to avoid regret”
→ “I must earn the right to leave”
→ “What I’m actually moving toward is warmth and aliveness”
→ “If I can create that state now, the pressure eases.”

I have lost a lot of time being frustrated by my location geographically, but I need to bring warmer energy into my life here if I'm going to stay mentally healthy while I work out the future. Rome wasn't built in a day, and we can't just live in frustration until we get there!

Therapist in self-administered therapy. Week 1 done, so that's method 1 done and even though I wasn't sure CFT would be an approach I'd get along with, my busy brain feels much more relaxed already... Setting me up nicely for a new week and the next method!
