If someone came to us and said,

โ€œIโ€™m fine through the week but my weekends are where it all goes wrongโ€

We wouldnโ€™t tell them to be stricter,

we wouldnโ€™t take weekends away and we definitely wouldnโ€™t tell them to just โ€œhave more willpowerโ€

Weโ€™d look at whatโ€™s actually happening.

Where theyโ€™re going too extreme, where theyโ€™re losing structure and where that all or nothing mindset is kicking in.

Then weโ€™d fix that.

So they can still go out, still enjoy themselves,

But not feel like theyโ€™re back at square one every Monday.

Thatโ€™s the difference and thatโ€™s what we do here with our females inside DOC.

Your weekends donโ€™t need to be perfect but they do still matter if fat loss is your goal.

This is where most women get stuck.

Theyโ€™re all in Monday to Friday then switch off completely at the weekend.

And itโ€™s not because they canโ€™t do it,

Itโ€™s because they think it has to be one or the other.

But thatโ€™s not how progress works.

You can enjoy meals out.โ€จYou can have plans.โ€จYou can live your life.

But there still needs to be a level of control and awareness.
โ€จSome better choices.โ€จA bit of structure.

Thatโ€™s what keeps things moving.

Because itโ€™s not about being perfect all week, itโ€™s about not writing parts of your week off completely.

Youโ€™re on it Monday to Friday.

Meals prepped.
Workouts done.
Steps in.

Then the weekend comes.
Plans pop up.
Meals out.
A few drinks.

Something different to your usual routine and instead of just enjoying it and moving on it turns into a full โ€œf**k itโ€ weekend.

Why?
Because in your head, youโ€™ve already gone off track.

So you think, whatโ€™s the point? And thatโ€™s where the problem is.

That switch of all in or all out.

Because once you feel like youโ€™ve โ€œmessed it upโ€, you write the rest of the weekend off.

Then Monday comes and youโ€™re back at square one again.

But hereโ€™s the thing,

If fat loss is your goal, weekends still count.

There does need to be some level of awareness.

Some better choices.
Some level of control.

But it doesnโ€™t need to be perfect and it definitely doesnโ€™t need to turn into a free for all the second things arenโ€™t โ€œon planโ€.

Weโ€™ve all done it before!

Thereโ€™s just something about the lead-up to the summer months that makes you do it.

The urge to take the extreme approach.

Even though you already know the ending.

Picture thisโ€ฆ

Your summer holiday is fast approaching and you want to feel confident by the pool.

So the first thing to take the hit is your food.

Your lunch might look something like this:

A cup of soup with a side of Ryvita crackers
Or
Loaded Tupperware tubs of โ€˜freeโ€™ foods.

At first, it works.

You begin to feel better.
You notice the scales dropping.

But then life happens.

One week, your schedule fills up.
The next, work demands increase.

For years, we let the number on the scales define everything.

If it went down, we felt proud and if it went up, we felt defeated.ย 

One weigh in could undo an entire week of effort for us and like so many women, we found ourselves trapped in the cycle of starting again every Monday.

We thought progress was measured on the scales alone and we arenโ€™t afraid to admit that we were wrong.ย 

It wasnโ€™t until we experienced online coaching ourselves that everything changed.ย 

We learned how scale weight truly works.ย 

We began to understand fluctuations, trends and the many factors that affect the number we seen.

More importantly, we realised that real progress goes far beyond what the scales can show.

Thatโ€™s when things finally clicked.

Progress looked like building strength and feeling fitter.

Would you believe thereโ€™s only 10lbs difference between these photos?

If Ruth had only looked at the scales, sheโ€™d have thought nothing was working.

Before joining, she was doing what so many women do.

Burning herself out with endless cardioโ€จEating less and less, thinking that was the answerโ€จRestarting every Mondayโ€จLetting the scales be her only measure of progress
And feeling stuck because of it.

But the scales werenโ€™t telling the full story,

Ruth has lost 128cm in body measurementsโ€จIs fitter and stronger than everโ€จHas structure that fits her life and her familyโ€จAnd hasnโ€™t had to โ€œstart again on Mondayโ€ once.
