Today we made the most of celebrating world chocolate day! Did you know it’s scientifically proven that chocolate boosts your mood due to antioxidant, particularly in dark chocolate. Today we had a mixture from chocolate buttons to biscuits and wafers!

This afternoon the residents made rice crispy cakes, baking is a therapeutic activity for our residents and it engages multiple senses, triggers positive memories and provides a sense of purpose. And of course who doesn’t like a sweet treat? 🧁

Aspen Court Care Home in Derbyshire, part of HC-One, is opening its doors to local emergency service workers and blue light card holders for a special Blue Light Breakfast on Monday 26th January, from 8am onwards, as a heartfelt thank you for their dedication and service to the community.

Monday 26th January, 8am onwards

Our first breakfast of 2026! We are sending out an invitation to all blue light professionals, and blue light card holders in our local community to come and join us for breakfast. Open to all professionals who wish to say hello, grab a tea or coffee and a breakfast treat.

This is our way of saying thank you, and we look forward to seeing you all.
