Snagging a deal? The best bargain is one that doesn’t put your family at risk. ⚡

We’ve teamed up with the Child Accident Prevention Trust to warn parents about unsafe electrical products sold by third-party sellers on online marketplaces. Many products may not have gone through proper safety testing.

Shop with reputable retailers and keep little ones safe. ❤️

Struggling with your child's phone use at bedtime? It may feel like a battle but here is why it matters for their sleep.

We know it’s tough to manage screen time, but using phones right before bed can seriously affect your child’s sleep. The content they are watching will keep the brain engaged and stimulated. Research also shows that scrolling while in bed can lead to delayed onset of falling asleep, disrupted sleep cycles, and feeling more tired in the morning.

❌ Sleep deprivation can impact mood, focus, and even school performance. But the good news? You can help!

✅ Try setting a "no phones 1 hour before bed" rule and encourage relaxing, tech-free routines like reading or listening to music. Your child’s future self will thank you for it. 😊

Have you taught your children?? 🔥

Have you taught your children?? 🔥

It’s scary to think about but if your child’s clothes catch on fire their instinct will be to run. And that won’t help!

So, this firework season it’s important to teach children what to do. Remember, STOP, DROP, and ROLL:

STOP what you are doing.
DROP to the ground and cover your face with your hands.
ROLL over and over to put out the flames.

You can encourage children to practice putting out pretend flames by making it into a fun game in the garden.

Is your child due to start secondary school in September next year? The deadline to apply is approaching fast!

Applications need to be made for children who are currently in primary school Year 6, and the deadline is Friday October 31st.

Parents are strongly advised to apply for three schools: a first, a second and a third preference. This is in case a place is not available at the first preference school, while it’s also advised that one of those schools is in your priority admission (catchment) area.

Please remember – if you apply after the October 31 deadline, it can severely reduce the chances of getting a place at one of your preferred schools.

For full details of how to apply, plus information about catchment areas, please visit: https://orlo.uk/Wa8eK

A new trend is circulating where young people are being added to group chats without their consent or knowledge.

These chats can sometimes include harmful or inappropriate content that’s not suitable for children.

If you’re a parent or carer, it’s a good time to:
⚠️ Have an open conversation with your child about online and phone safety.
📱 Check privacy settings and parental controls on their devices and apps.
🕹 Remember: most games and social media platforms have multiple communication features including text and voice chats, private messages, image sharing, video calls, and livestreaming.
🔒 While some platforms have moderators to remove harmful content, not all do.

With technology now easily accessible, help keep your children safe online.

If you believe one of your or your child’s accounts has been hacked, report it to Action Fraud: https://www.actionfraud.police.uk
