🎃👻 Happy Halloween from all of us at Bennfield House! 👻🎃

Wishing all our incredible residents, families, friends, colleagues and everyone connected to Bennfield House a fang-tastic Halloween! 🧛‍♀️🕸️ Whether you’re out trick-or-treating, watching scary movies, or hiding behind the sofa pretending you’re not home (we see you 👀), we hope your day is filled with laughter, warmth, and a good dose of spooky fun!

Here at Bennfield, we’ve gone all out the decorations are up, the pumpkins are glowing, the cobwebs are (mostly) fake, and we’re ready for our Halloween Party at 2pm! 🧙‍♀️🕷️ Expect treats, tunes, and a few tricks along the way…

Stay safe tonight, have fun and remember, if you eat your entire stash of sweets before the night is over, it’s not your fault… it’s the ghosts of temptation whispering, “just one more!” 🍬🍫😜

We’re incredibly proud to share that our Director will once again be taking part as a judge at this year’s Great British Care Awards on Tuesday 4th November! 💫

It’s such a privilege to be part of an event that celebrates the very best in social care, recognising the dedication, compassion and incredible stories of care professionals from all across the UK. Each year, the awards shine a light on those who go above and beyond every single day to make a difference to the lives of others. 💚

Listening to the personal journeys, acts of kindness, and inspiring innovations shared by nominees reminds us why we do what we do. It’s a true honour to hear first-hand the stories of resilience, teamwork and genuine care that define our sector.

We are delighted to announce that our Employee of the Month for October is Esther! 🎉

Esther has worked incredibly hard and shown real dedication to both her role and her own professional development. She recently completed her Level 4 in Health & Social Care and is now progressing onto her Level 5 qualification, an amazing achievement that shows her commitment to learning and growing in her career.

Esther is a valued member of our team, always willing to go the extra mile for our residents and colleagues. Her positive attitude, determination, and passion for providing excellent care truly make her stand out.

We’re excited to share that our brand-new self reclining chairs have arrived! 🪑💺

These chairs are specially designed for ease and comfort, no remote needed. This means our residents who may find it difficult to use a handset, or who simply don’t want to wait for one of our fantastic team members, can recline and sit back up all by themselves.

💡 Independence, dignity, and comfort are so important, and these chairs are just another way we’re making everyday living that bit easier and more enjoyable for everyone at Bennfield.

This week we have officially started our journey to become an accredited Gold Standards Framework (GSF) provider 💛

So what is GSF?
The Gold Standards Framework is the UK’s leading programme in end-of-life and palliative care. It helps care homes like ours deliver the very best, person-centred and compassionate support for residents in their final years of life.

By taking part in this training, our amazing team will:
✨ Strengthen skills in palliative and end-of-life care
✨ Ensure every resident receives personalised, dignified support
✨ Embed a framework of best practice recognised nationally by the CQC

We’re really proud to be making this step forward and look forward to keeping you updated as we progress on this journey 💚

As we head into the weekend, our residents are looking forward to some relaxation, activities, and of course plenty of tea and cake 🍰☕. Fridays are all about winding down, sharing stories, and celebrating the little wins of the week.

Angela Rippon visits Thorne Nursing Home

Bennfield House Nursing Home today (April 25th) held 30th Anniversary celebrations with an afternoon tea attended by guest speakers, residents, family members, staff and invited guests.

The home, on King Edward Road, Thorne, provides professional nursing care for the elderly with Alzheimer’s, dementia, and those enduring mental health problems.

Special guests included Angela Rippon, ambassador for the Alzheimer’s Society, and Doncaster’s Trevor Jarvis, a fellow ambassador recently awarded with a British Empire Medal for his tireless campaigning for people with dementia.
