The Doncaster Cancer Support drop In Centre A voluntary organisation providing support and advice on the emotional and financial issues associated with a cancer diagnosis.

We are currently able to provide one off grants for those in financial hardship. OUR FOUNDER MARIE CAYGILL WROTE... At the age of 45 in Nov. 2013 I was diagnosed with Grade 3 Breast Cancer. On diagnoses I was sent away with a treatment plan that included 3 lots of surgery, Chemotherapy, Radiotherapy & Hormone therapy. I was given various leaflets explaining the procedures & treatments I was facing and there side effects, however I was never given a leaflet to explain the enormous impact this diagnosis would have on my life. Emotionally, Physically, Mentally, Spiritually & Financially. Little did I know my life was about to change FOREVER! and not all of it for the better. My Mission for this Community is to provide along with the relevant services the following. Emotional support and guidance:

3 monthly drop in sessions which will be held at The Ragusa Centre, Ragusa drive, Rossington DN11 0YN. Our sessions run on the first and third Tuesday of every month 6pm until 8pm and the second Saturday of every month 11am until 1pm. its a safe place to talk with others to share experiences, hopes, fears and practical advice. To direct to counselling services available if required. To provide practical advice & to share experiences & ideas on combating side effects of treatments. Advice on wigs & headscarf fittings, make up etc. Diet
Coping strategies

Financial Advice and support. we are able to provide a one off payment of up to £300, this will be for a specific need that isnt covered by other charities. All we ask is that you attend one drop in session so we can determine what ammount of money will meet your need. We will also need a letter of diagnosis so we can release funds in a timely manner. Directing people to the relevant services for welfare, benefits & grants. Physical Support:

To provide a network of cancer buddies who will be willing to support cancer patience and their families in aspects such as Hospital visits, shopping or just a chat. All cancer patients will recieve a free luxury pamper bag filled with cancer safe products �

Our aim is to make a cancer journey that little easier for the individual and those close to them.
Things we are able to offer;
- Emotional and financial advice,
- A listening ear, friendship
- Advocacy and help with navigating the world of 'Cancer'.
- Referals for councelling, hypnotherapy & Reiki,
- Financial aid, which is a 1 off payment of up to £300.
- A safe space to meet others going through similar experiences
- Help completing benefit forms or LPA's
- We also have a FREE selection of wigs, headscarves, incontinence pads and cancer related books.
If there is something we cant help with or dont know, we make it our mission to find the answers for you. This allowing you and your family to spend your time together, rather than searching for the unknown.

Thanks to the lovely family and friends of Keith Glanvill ... they raised £162 in his memory during his 'celebration of life' they kindly arranged for this to be split between ourselves and Evestrust.. I feel honoured to have spent time with Keith, he was a true Gentleman who clearly adored his family.. we spent hours talking about his precious memories and how much his family meant to him... his loss will be felt by everyone who had the pleasure to know him.. our love and strength at this incredibly difficult time are sent to his daughters Claire, Sarah, his family and his friends ❤️

World cancer day!... heres to everyone out there who is living with cancer, who's had cancer, who's lost loved ones to cancer and those who fear cancer. We are ALL here supporting one another, never allowing cancer to control our lives or steal our happiness.... Check your bodies, if you notice something which isnt normal for you, go get it checked, dont wait, just go! We're in it together ❤️

Guys please go and get your prostate checked. I had to have a radical prostatectomy surgery yesterday (prostate removal). Anyone over 50 who’s not had a test, please ensure you get one. If your father has had prostate cancer get checked if you are over 40. Early detection saves lives.
