Have you smoked more than 100 ci******es in your life?

Are you registered with a GP practice in Dorset?

Then you are eligible for a free NHS Lung Cancer Screening assessment

A 15 minute telephone assessment with a registered nurse

You will either be low risk or high risk of developing a lung cancer in the future

You may be offered a low dose CT scan of your lungs if appropriate

Lung Cancer Screening is coming to Southbourne this May

NHS Lung Cancer Screening is available to people of Dorset who are aged between 55-74 and either a current or previous smoker ( > 100 ci******es in your lifetime )

The assessment is carried out by specialist nurses from Dorset County Hospital and are done over the phone.

The nurse will ask you questions about your medical history, family history, smoking history, overall lung health and lifestyle to determine if you are high or low risk of developing a Lung Cancer in the future.

If you are Low Risk - you will be reassessed every 2 years

If you are High Risk - you will be offered a CT scan of your lungs to look for abnormailites early.
