Feeling Stuck?
When we feel stuck, or feel a sense of dis-ease, this can often go hand in hand with moments of overwhelm or heaviness.
You might feel this in the way to walk or talk, perhaps your shoulders slump or you lack the energy to engage in conversation. Perhaps your jaw feels tight, and if you paid attention, you may notice your breath is chesty and shallow. Maybe you find it hard to focus as your mind is constantly hammered with repetitive thoughts and to-do lists, but you’re stuck so you end up not doing anything and the list grows, and you berate yourself for not being a ‘doer’, for ‘not managing’, for not ever ‘being good enough’. And your body responds by gripping even tighter, by withdrawing and by breathing in a way that is dysfunctional, holding you in a state of chronic stress.
Sound familiar, or at least elements of it?
Personally I find, approaching midlife with fluctuating hormones, I regularly experience days like this. And the one thing that helps me, without fail, is breathwork. I would be LOST without it. It is my medicine, my tonic, my best friend.
Conscious Connected Breathing has an incredible way of shifting this ‘stuckness’. Of shifting this tight, restricted energy which is all-encompassing.
