Generational trauma is real

And generations of shaming women’s cycles, blood, and bodies is likely showing up in your cycles today

Is it any wonder that most women are fearful to talk about their periods, want to bury themselves alive if they leak through their clothes and don’t dare take a day off to rest when for years and years this is how we have been taught to be

Unlearning can happen and rewriting a better relationship with your cycle is possible, it takes time, patience and compassion ❤️

Not every wellness trend you see on social media is made with women in mind 💭

So many of the trends we see are built around doing more, hustling more, putting more and more pressure on yourself and that is the total opposite for what your hormones need to thrive

I have been there and still most days need to remind myself that having an extensive morning routine and optimising the s**t out of every aspect of my life is what I need

What your hormones actually want is softness, slowness & safety and actually doing my morning pages and having some breakfast is enough

The next First Moon Circle is confirmed 🌙✨

A once in a lifetime ceremony offering young girls a fun, empowering and positive space to learn about menstruation and puberty

First moon circles are one of my favourite things to do - it is beyond special to watch each daughter arrive feeling unsure and nervous, and leaving with a newfound confidence for her amazing body, her cycles and wisdom

Tickets are limited, with 6 mother-daughter spaces available and spaces already filling up

What a man experiences in 24 hours, a woman experiences in a month

🌞 Men are solar - they follow a daily rhythm aligned with the sun’s rise and set, with energy & focus peaking midday and slowly dipping into the evening

🌙Women are lunar - we ebb and flow and follow a monthly cycle just as the moon follows a 28.5 day cycle

Women cannot be expected to show up the same every single day, we are biologically different to men. When we bring an awareness of our cycle into our daily living, we can make small, subtle shifts to support our energy, creativity & vitality ✨

Research has shown the average woman is using 168 different chemical ingredients every single day & for men it is an average of 68 👀

Now add to that
☕️ coffee on an empty stomach
🏋🏼‍♀️ fasted workouts
😓chronic stress
💤 poor sleep
🍔 foods laden with chemicals

You get the picture

Our hormones don’t know the difference between emotional, physical and chemical stress - stress is stress to the body

And when your body is having to cope with this on the daily, we see it in our cycles
⏰ irregular cycles
⚡️ PMS
😔 low mood
📏 stubborn weight
etc etc

Just some simple swaps to your morning routine can massively reduce the load on your nervous system - non toxic deodorant, making an exfoliator out of honey and sugar water & opting for coconut oil as a moisturiser are some of my faves 💗

Your self care routine doesn’t need to go out of the window, just having an awareness of what you are putting on your body is the key to empowerment 🔑
