Just to remind everyone of our opening hours:

Monday through to Friday we are open 9am - 6 pm

On Saturdays we have changed our hours to 9am - 1pm

Sunday : Closed

We would like to welcome Ben kinrade our new Pharmacist to join the team . A former Saturday student , graduate of university of Huddersfield, and pre reg Pharmacist at Hull royal infirmary, Ben has returned to the island to join the family business and reconnect with the island.

Today we would like to introduce you to one of our technicians, Lyndsey (our Dorothy).
Lyndsey has worked at kinrades for 13 years and has been a qualified technician for 10 years. She has an 18 year old son, who is off to university in September and she is getting married in 2 weeks.

1) What is the most ridiculous fact you know?
Pigs can't look up

2) What do you like to do in your spare time?
I go to the gym 3 times a week, and I like to get out walking in the countryside and taking photos. I also have an allotment and spend a lot of time up there.

3) What do you collect?
I'm a bit of a geek to be honest. I collect star wars memorabilia, Lego and pop funkos. And obviously shoes (currently have around 70 pairs)

4) What is your favourite book?
Jane Eyre by Charlotte Bronte, I read it at least once a year

5) What are 3 things on your bucket list?
To ride through New Zealand on a motorbike
To hold a baby orangutan
To visit Japan

6) Tell me something about yourself that others may find surprising
I have quite a few tattoos and piercings.
I have a number of qualifications in teaching, criminology and finance.

7) What did you want to be when you were a child?
I really wanted to be a lawyer or criminologist

Over the next few days we will be introducing you to our amazing team. We will give you a bit of background on each of us and we will answer some really hard questions.

Of course we have to start with the big man himself, Edwin (aka The Wizard / Bruce Banner). Edwin took over from the late great Ted Kerruish 26 years ago and will probably be here for the next 40 years!
Edwin is happily married with 2 grown up children.

1) What did you want to be when you were a child?

I always wanted to be a pharmacist

2) What do you like to do in your spare time?

I like to go out in my motor home.

3) What movie would be improved if it was made into a musical?

An officer and a gentleman

4) Tell me something about yourself that others may find suprising

I used to do choral speaking competitively

5) What do you collect?

Old Manx postcards

6) What is your favorite book?

Either Of Mice and Men by John Steinbeck or Cry Freedom by John Briley as I strongly believe in treating everyone equally irrespective of their background.

We would like to advise our patients that gluten free foods are no longer available on prescription. Please find attached a link to the government website which explains the reasons these have been withdrawn.
However, if you wish to purchase any items that you have previously had on prescription, we will be happy to obtain them for you.

We have had a number of parents concerned about a recent case of Scarlet Fever on the island. Here is some information from the NHS regarding scarlet fever and if you are unsure about any symptoms your child may have please speak to your Pharmacist or Doctor

Good morning
We would like to advise our patients that there is now legislation in place which states that by law we have to check our patients exemption status and ask for proof of exemption.
We will therefore be asking any patients with an exemption to provide proof when the prescription is presented at the pharmacy.
