Spreading festive kindness through The Beacon Angus
Thanks to funding from the Hillcrest Foundation, The Beacon received £225 to create 20 Christmas Hampers, bringing comfort and kindness to those most in need.
The Beacon is a community wellbeing centre in Arbroath, commissioned by Angus Health and Social Care Partnership and delivered by Hillcrest Futures. It provides a safe, welcoming space where people across Angus can access support, connect with others, and get involved in activities that promote positive mental health and wellbeing.
With additional contributions from community champions at Arbroath Morrisons and Forfar Asda, the hampers were filled with thoughtful items including biscuits, coffee, self‑care products, calendars, socks, gloves, hot water bottles and more.
The feedback received included:
🔹 "It is lovely to be gifted something so thoughtful, when I sometimes feel in a world where nobody thinks of me much."
🔹 "Things are challenging financially, and I have no extra money for treats. This made me smile. Thank you."
🔹 "I'm going to keep this for Christmas Day, to make it special for me."
