Margaret Mitchell has asked that her winning speech from last night be out up as it reflects what’s important about DSEC and winning the award.

Leadership Award Acceptance Speech (1 minute)

Thank you very much. I'm truly honored to receive this Leadership Award.

For the past fifteen years, the Dundee Stroke Exercise Club has been a huge part of my life. It's been about the people. Leading this club has never been about titles or recognition - it’s been about the people. About watching someone take their first steps back into exercise. It's been about seeing confidence return, friendships form, and lives rebuild after something as life-changing as a stroke.

I've been incredibly lucky to work alongside volunteers and supporters who give their time, energy, and heart to this club. They make leadership easy. And to every member who shows up, week after week, pushing themselves and encouraging others - you are the reason this club is what it is.

This award reflects the strength of our whole community. I'm grateful, I'm proud, and I'm excited for what the next chapter will bring.

Thank you

Delighted to report that Margaret Mitchell won the Leadership award last night at the Dundee Social Enterprise Network awards.

Well done Margaret, a hugely deserved recognition for all that you do for DSEC.

DSEC continues to grow and help more and more people that have had their lives affected by stroke. That’s a great thing, but with more people attending our classes, we desperately need more volunteers.

The volunteers help our members take part in various exercise classes throughout the week at Douglas Sports Centre and in Menzieshill.
Full training is given.

If you can spare an hour or 2 a week to help, please contact Margaret Mitchell, either through the page or by email at info@dsec.org.uk

Please share this post if you can.

The TERG (Technology-enhanced rehabilitation gym) launch was at Olympia today, and a little birdie tells me it will be on STV news tonight if you would like to see it.

A reminder that there are no classes tomorrow (Monday 17th) as all the instructors are at Olympia for the launch of the research project.

Last night the quiz at Craigie Bowling Club Dundee raised a magnificent £1270 for DSEC.

This astonishing amount was made of the entry money, raffle money and a very generous donation by the bowling club.

The place was packed with 28 teams taking part and the winners all got a bottle of vodka, which as you can see, was much appreciated!
