INFORMED CONSENT!
So many people think that when they are pregnant they just hand decision making over to the powers that be, but this is not the case.
It’s so important that you seek out the information, have the conversations and when you give consent to what happens to you that it is always informed.
Most of the families I work with who have had previous babies and maybe had experiences that they feel didn’t go well will say things like “I didn’t know I had a choice around that” or “if I’d known this was a possible outcome I would have reconsidered the intervention” informed consent is not about saying no to everything, it’s about having enough information to make the choices that feel right for you, whatever they may be.
