We close at 12pm on the third Thursday of each month, as do all practices in the area. This is to allow for mandatory training for all staff. All three of our sites are closed on a weekend and including Bank Holidays. If you become ill when the surgery is closed and you feel it is an emergency please contact NHS 111 who will direct you to the appropriate service. NHS 111 is available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Call 999 in a medical emergency, when someone is seriously ill or injured and their life is at risk.

Could you help train the healthcare professionals of the future? 🤩

Newcastle University School of Medicine trains a range of students who will work within our NHS. Our students will become doctors, physician associates and clinical scientists.👨‍⚕️

The Patients as Partners in Healthcare Education service aims to involve patients and volunteers from across our region. Working with patients and volunteers is a hugely valuable part of our student’s training that helps them to develop excellent communication and examination skills as well as developing their bedside manner
We want to hear from people with lived experience of healthcare or interested volunteers who feel they could support our student’s to develop these important skills.
