We want the Government to amend the Grocery Supply Code of Practice (GSCP) to require retailers, without exception, to: - Buy what they agreed to buy - Pay what they agreed to pay - Pay on time We believe the current GSCP is inadequate and doesn't protect farmers from unfair behaviour.

Not the world’s most artistic photo, just a quick breakfast idea snap- we quite often serve pancakes for breakfast as they’re a filling, healthy and nutritious start to the day before the younger ynm team head off to school.

Pancake mix (made in the nutribullet for extra speed) :
•3 organic eggs
•1 cup wholemeal self raising flour
•organic milk to consistency (probably 1-1/12 cups)
• 1/2 tsp vanilla
Served with natural yogurt, berries and peanut butter toppings 😋

Breakfast for the eldest YNM kiddo, she’s off on study leave now so we are aiming for a balanced diet, fresh air and movement each day, good sleep and focused revision. Let’s see how that goes 😂

Breakfast bowl:
NUSH dairy free, raspberry yogurt, strawberries, blueberries, raspberries and a 1/4 cup of our own blend of seeds (organic sunflower, sesame, chia, flax and pumpkin seeds) and a skoosh of “inspirational” edible glitter dust ;)

Someone asked me the other day if our older children still eat as well as they did when they were younger and we had complete control of their diet.

It would be a lie to say yes:

High school cafeteria meals leave a lot to be desired and social pressure ensures there’s no chance they will take a packed lunch 🙈

Like any individual they like chocolate, crisps, sweeties but I’d say they’re quickly sickened and show a good awareness of the negative impact such excesses have. They don’t particularly like fast food but do have it on occasion.

The meals below are what they’ve asked for, this evening, for dinner. It’s a night of clubs so we don’t sit down together. On the right master YNM (13) has a boiled egg, roast chicken, salad and rye crackers. On the left the eldest YNm daughter (15) has roast chicken, salad with sprouted lentils and home made guacamole. They’ll both have yogurt and fresh berries as pudding.

The foundation that good food habits create in young children holds true later in life, we have found so far. Long may it continue!!

If, like us, you have a teenager undertaking prelim exams at the moment it’s important to remember that stress and anxiety impacts our whole body, certain vitamins and minerals are being used at a faster rate than in normal circumstances and sleep patterns may be disrupted.

A good diet, some careful supplementation, regular study breaks for fresh air and exercise are all beneficial.

Avoid sugary snacks and excess caffeine.

Shut the books two hours before bed time.

Stay hydrated!
