💖 Great suggestions, including squats, single leg balance, hip mobility, and isometric holds like planks...which we do in pilates!

Key takeaway of this article? "Stability = survival"

Getting older doesn’t automatically mean losing strength, feeling stiff or giving up your independence. A lot of what we associate with ageing is actually down to losing muscle and mobility – and that’s something you can work on.

You don’t need extreme workouts or anything complicated. There are five simple, highly rated exercises that support strength, balance and joint health – and you can do them pretty much anywhere.

💖 happy Friday 13th 💖

Good morning 🌿

💫Before fear rewrote the story, Friday the 13th was once a day of goddess energy and lunar power. Not unlucky but sacred.

💫Friday the 13th was honoured, nature, cycles, Intuition, geminine wisdom:

💫13 moons in a year.

💫It was never a day to fear, it was a day to feel.

💫Friday the 13th isn’t bad luck.... it’s a reminder to honour the wild, cyclical, intuitive parts of ourselves.

💫Ancient wisdom called it powerful, a day to be honoured and feel into ourselves. Later times brought in fear, I know which ones I'm doing today.

Have a magical day ✨️🫶.

Breathe. Balance. Reconnect.

Celebrating my son's 16th birthday today but also celebrating 16 years since I discovered pilates (or was told to do it by my chiropractor to help my recovery from certain injuries and imbalances in my body after whiplash from RTA, and pregnancies/childbirth and being all wonky donkey after carrying a toddler on one hip and baby on the other...etc etc.

I has always loved yoga and just didn't 'get' pilates until I felt broken and had to have private 1:1 pilates lessons to learn how to move again (before that I had thought it was just a lot of lying down 🙈).

All of a sudden the penny dropped and it all seemed to make so much more sense - creating a powerful centre from which all movement comes, and realigning, rebalancing my muscles, my body at the same time, small, precise movements becoming more important than bigger movements and showy off poses.

This is why I'm so passionate about pilates, no matter how broken you feel, anyone can do it, I offer different levels so you can go at your own pace and level, and progress the movements as you get stronger 💪.

I am a different person after pilates and it inspires me every day how it helps people recover from injuries and works with different health conditions to improve your quality of life.

Pilates helped me to be able to play with my children on the floor and in the park, helped me to keep up with them over the years, on the climbing walls, the Downs and recently a mountain ⛰️ despite my injuries and health condition.

Let me show you how. Here's to the next 16 years! 🥳

🌟 International Women’s Day 2026 in Eastbourne! 🌟
Saturday 8 March • 10.30am to 3.30pm
📍Gather in the Beacon Shopping Centre, Eastbourne

This year’s global theme is “Give To Gain” — a beautiful reminder that when we give our time, energy, skills or support, we lift each other up. Giving isn’t a loss… it’s multiplication.

We have an inspiring day planned, celebrating women and girls locally and around the world. Here’s a taste of what’s happening:

✨ Give to Gain Photo Project
🎬 Film: Being a Woman – shown throughout the day
🌼 Crocheted Flowers – handmade in IWD colours
📚 Living Library – sit down and chat with inspirational women
🌳 Tree of Inspiration – add the names or quotes of women who inspire you
💬 community mural
🤍 White Ribbon Pledges – inviting men to take a stand for women’s safety
🥁 Singing, drumming & dancing
🎨 Crafting – bracelets & coaster decorating
🎵 Music by incredible women from around the world

A huge thank you to Cllr Teri Sayers-Cooper who is lead organiser and Eastbourne Unltd Chamber of Commerce for supporting this event and helping make it possible! 🙌

Come along, get inspired, celebrate, share, create — and together, let’s Give To Gain.

Everyone is welcome. 💜💚🤍
