Why are eye drops used during your screening?

We use them to gently dilate (widen) your pupils so we can take clear, detailed images of the back of your eye. This helps us spot any early signs of changes and keep your eyes healthy.

Why do we use dilation eye drops during your appointment? 👁

They widen your pupils so we can capture clear images of the back of your eye and detect early signs of conditions like diabetic retinopathy.
Early detection protects your vision.

Hypoglycaemia is when your blood sugar (glucose) level drops below normal.

Glucose is the main source of energy for your body, especially your brain, so low levels can cause symptoms quickly.

For quick treatment, use fast acting carbohydrates like:
- Fruit Juice
- Glucose tablets
- 5 Jelly Babies
- Fizzy Drinks, such as Coca Cola (not diet)
