A stroke can happen anytime and anywhere.

By the end of today, 25 people across Scotland will have suffered a stroke. The same will happen tomorrow.

If you suspect a stroke, act FAST and call 999.

Think FAST is a simple way to recognise the signs of a stroke:

👤 FACE – Can the person smile, does one side of their face droop?
💪 ARM – Can they lift both arms? Is one weak?
💬 SPEECH – Is their speech slurred or muddled?
⏰ TIME – If ANY ONE of these signs or symptoms are present, call 999.

The sooner a person receives treatment for a stroke, the better the outcome is likely to be.

Please share this message far and wide, and make sure your friends and family know what to do in an emergency. 🙌

📢 Our Women’s Health Online Support Group is looking for volunteers to support the running of the group.

The group is a safe space for women to come together to talk about different women’s health topics as well as a chance to talk about their conditions, share their experiences and get support to live their lives to the full. 💛

The group meets online via Zoom on the first and third Thursday of every month from 11am – 12pm.

In this home-based volunteer role, you’ll provide support to people online and help coordinate the group.

You’ll be making a real difference to people’s lives while also meeting new people, developing new skills and improving your own wellbeing. All you need is a couple of hours every two weeks. ✨

If you’re interested, find out more and give the gift of your time 👉https://volunteer.chss.org.uk/opportunities/55088-virtual-peer-support-volunteer-2023-10-25
