Remembrance Day❤️

Today is Remembrance Day, which is an incredibly important day for many of us, including many of our service users. Many of those we care for carry memories of wartime, some served, some waited, and all were affected.

Remembrance Day is an important time to honour and thank those who have served for our country, sacrificing their lives to protect ours and defend our freedoms.

Halloween Recap 👻🎃🌾

Our West of Scotland team knocked it out of the park this year with their Halloween costumes! We also had a very special visitor. 👼 Our Service Manager, Amanda, stopped by with her gorgeous little (almost!) 7-month-old, Bowy the scarecrow! Isn’t he just the cutest?

Everyone brought their A-game, but little Bowy absolutely stole the show! 🧡 Thanks to Amanda for the visit, the team were delighted to see you!

🕰️ Reminder for Carers: Clocks Go Back This Weekend! 🕰️

Just a gentle nudge that the clocks go back one hour at 2am on Sunday, 26 October 2025. That means an extra hour in bed - or an extra hour to support those you care for 💜

If you're supporting someone who may be confused by the change, especially those living with dementia or memory challenges, a quick chat or visual reminder can make all the difference.

✅ Check any scheduled medications or appointments
✅ Adjust clocks and devices ahead of time
✅ Be mindful of changes in routine or sleep patterns

CCS Advance Professional Development 🤝

Savannah joined Call-In Homecare Dundee team through the CCS graduate scheme and has now been with us for almost three months. We recently sat down with her to hear her thoughts and reflections on the programme so far.

🎓 Can you talk about what you studied at uni and what led you to apply?
I studied at the University of Glasgow, where I received a Master of Arts in Business and Management. I’ve always had a strong passion for care and supporting others to improve their quality of life. Combining that passion with my academic background and experience in operations made Call-In Homecare a natural fit. The company’s values aligned with mine, and I saw it as a place where I could make a meaningful impact while continuing to grow professionally.

🎓 How are you finding your role so far?
I’m really enjoying the role every day brings something new. It’s dynamic and fast-paced, which keeps things exciting. I’ve been gaining valuable hands-on experience from colleagues within the company, and I’ve had plenty of opportunities to apply the skills I developed during my degree. It’s a great environment for learning and growth.

🎓 What value do you see in the graduate scheme?
The graduate scheme offers a unique opportunity to learn across all levels of the organisation, giving you a well-rounded understanding of how the company operates. It helps you build on existing skills while developing new ones that are directly relevant to the care sector. There’s a strong support network, and your ideas are genuinely welcomed.

🎓 What would you say to anyone thinking of choosing the CCS graduate scheme?
If you’re someone who wants to use your degree to make a difference in people’s lives, this scheme is a fantastic choice. It’s not just about professional development; it’s about contributing to something meaningful.
