Thank you, Nichole 🌟

We recently received a wonderful review for one of our Edinburgh North Care Assistants from a family member of a service user:

"We would like to thank all your carers for looking after mum but especially we would like to nominate Nichole for some recognition from the office.
She is the kindest and most considerate carer with our mum, she sees what mum needs and helps to support her tirelessly but in a fun and kind manner.
She is so considerate and makes sure mum has everything she needs.
She demonstrates unconditional positive regard from the moment she comes into our Mum’s house to the moment she leaves.
She’s a great communicator and lets us know what we can do to help too.
She makes sure her TV is switched on and her nightie is ready for her in the evening, together with looking for, and making sure, that mum has her shawl."

Nichole, your kindness and dedication truly embody what great care looks like. Stories like this remind us why person-centred care matters so much. Thank you, Nichole, for living our values and making a difference. 💜

Practicing Gratitude 🎄

The festive season can feel overwhelming, but gratitude helps us pause, reset, and focus on what truly matters. Research shows that thankfulness is linked to both mental and physical wellbeing.

Meet Zoe 👇
“December always felt like a whirlwind - school plays, presents, cleaning, hosting… I used to run myself ragged trying to make everything perfect. Last year, I reached out to the EAP helpline when the pressure felt overwhelming. Having someone to talk to helped me reset. Now I use the tools I learned to simplify, delegate, and enjoy the holidays with my family.”

TELUS Health offers exclusive resources for colleagues to help you practice gratitude and wellbeing this season:

Well Done East Lothian! ✨

We recently received a lovely review from a family member of a service user. She noted that her father (our service user) was getting anxious and stressed due to a beeping noise that he didn't know where it was coming from. After speaking to our Coordinator, Nicole, at the office, “she was so helpful and said she would speak to the evening carer.”

Our Care Assistant, Jim, located the beeping which was from a spare CO2 alarm and the relief of our service user was “unbelievable.”

The family member also noted that, due to her father's dementia, “small things matter – it is not always the 'big' stuff. The little things I put in place for him to live as independent as possible are what makes him happy in his own world.”

👏 Well done Nicole and Jim for your great teamwork and for going above and beyond for our service user.

Moments like these show how the dedication of our team not only supports service users but also brings peace of mind to their families, knowing their loved ones are cared for with compassion. 💜

Festivities in North Lanarkshire ✨

When our Care Assistant, Jennifer, visited service users Danny and Mary the other day, she found them in full festive spirit.

They had just finished decorating their beautiful tree with their daughter - and those Santa hats are the perfect finishing touch! 🎅🎄 Doesn’t it look wonderful?

👏 Shout-out to Chloe!

Chloe joined our Edinburgh South team only a couple of weeks ago and has already gone above and beyond. Recently, Chloe waited with a service user for four hours late at night to ensure they were safe until an ambulance arrived.

Your dedication and compassion truly make a difference, Chloe, we’re proud to have you on the Call In Homecare team! 💜

📸 Here’s Chloe receiving a well deserved gift for her incredible effort.

Praise for our Edinburgh North Care Assistants 👏

A lovely note came in from District Nurse colleagues praising how attentive and gentle our Edinburgh North Care Assistant, Rachel, was while supporting a client and family at a very sensitive time. We’re so proud to have Rachel on the Call In Homecare team - she truly is an asset! ✨

We’d also like to take a moment to recognise our Care Assistant, Chloe, for her incredible dedication and compassion in her role. Adelle, our Co-ordinator, shared this lovely feedback:

“Chloe is such a patient, kind and caring person who always goes above and beyond to ensure every client’s needs are met. Since I joined in March, Chloe has been a huge asset to the team – always willing to pick up extra calls and take on new clients. During her recent supervision, she stood out with the heartfelt way she spoke about her clients, saying: ‘I care for them the way I’d like my own grandparents cared for.’”

A huge thank you to both Rachel and Chloe for the outstanding care and compassion you show every day. You make a real difference to our clients and their families, and we’re proud to have you on the Edinburgh North team! 💜👏
