Call-In Homecare Call-In Homecare is a leading Care at Home provider across Scotland. We’re one of only two organisations in Scotland to achieve the award.

Call-In Homecare provides flexible, person-centred support services to allow individuals to live a dignified, independent life tailored to their needs and aspirations. We are committed to improving the well-being and quality of life for the service users we support. Our services are based on choice and control, personalisation and being a part of the community. Get Involved with the Virtual Village Hall! 🏡

The Virtual Village Hall is a free online community and activity hub created by our charity partner, the Royal Voluntary Service. It’s designed to help people stay socially connected, mentally stimulated and physically active - all from the comfort of their own home.

It offers a wide range of live and on‑demand activities, including:
❤️ gentle and seated exercise
❤️ music, singing and creative activities
❤️ arts, crafts and cooking
❤️ wellbeing and relaxation sessions
❤️ friendly talks and learning opportunities

There’s no sign‑up, subscription or special equipment needed, making it a great option for service users who may find it harder to get out and about or who would enjoy more social connection at home.

We encourage our colleagues to mention the Virtual Village Hall to service users or support them to explore it if they’re interested.

Voices of Care: What Care Means to Me 💜

Care is one of the most powerful forces in our society. It is the thread that connects families, strengthens communities, and supports people to live with dignity, independence, and purpose.

For many carers, both paid professionals and those who care for loved ones at home, “care” is more than a job or responsibility. It is a deeply personal experience, shaped by compassion, resilience, and the desire to make a difference.

As part of our Voices of Care series, we’re shining a light on what care truly means to the people who give and receive it every day.

💬 What is Care Creates… and why it matters now

Care Creates… is a sector‑wide campaign led by Scottish Care, highlighting the vital role social care plays in supporting well-being, independence, fair work and strong communities across Scotland.

As we approach the upcoming elections, the campaign is helping to ensure that care is firmly part of the national conversation, showing decision‑makers, communities and candidates why funding care like it matters is essential for Scotland’s future.

Last weeks theme was 'Funding': investing in care like it matters, challenges the idea of social care as a cost, and instead positions it as essential infrastructure that delivers long‑term social and economic value.

Care Stories show what that looks like in practice:
- Investment in technology that supports well-being and connection
- Employee‑owned models delivering fair work and local economic value
- Long‑term capital investment creating future‑ready care environments

🔗 Read and share the stories, blog and full toolkit here:

Every story helps show what’s possible when care is funded like it matters, especially at a time when Scotland is considering its priorities for the future.

Edinburgh North Recognition 🌟

A huge well done to our two North East Care Assistants, Arlene and Renata, who recently received a glowing message from a member of the public.

They were praised for consistently going above and beyond for their elderly clients, as well as for the care and kindness they show to others in the local community. The feedback highlighted how compassionate, chatty and bubbly they always are - and the positive impact they have on everyone they meet.

We’re so proud of Arlene and Renata and grateful for the care and compassion they bring to their roles every day 💜

Random acts of kindness ✨

Throughout March, our services in the West of Scotland decided to show some appreciation for our wonderful Care Assistants and have been sending out boxes of treats to say thank you for all the dedication, compassion and hard work they show every day.

Thanks to our Carers, Gold and Francis, for sending us pictures of their treats! We hope you enjoyed them 🍭🍬

More easter celebrations! ✨

Our service users Alex and Jeanette (pictured first and second) were pictured enjoying some easter treats! These bags were made up by one of our wonderful colleagues, her daughter Jackie and her daughter Casey. The bags were then handed out by the staff member while she was out working, a lovely surprise for everyone involved!

Pictured third to sixth are more of our Lanarkshire service users, who were visited by our Care Assistant Jacqueline, who dropped off some Easter eggs to spread a bit more Easter cheer.

Thank you to everyone involved in making Easter extra special this year. And thanks to everyone who voted in our easter egg competition, our winners are the West of Scotland team with their pretty floral egg (pictured last). Well done team! 🐣
